The Galaxy S25 FE launched in the US at $649.99, while the Pixel 8 Pro launched at $999—a $349.01 difference between their starting prices. That is a historical launch-price comparison, not a current quote or a like-for-like storage comparison. The phones also come from different generations: Google announced the Pixel 8 Pro in 2023, and Samsung announced the S25 FE in 2025. The better fit depends on current local pricing and whether you prioritize the Pixel’s higher-resolution secondary cameras or Samsung’s published charging figures and lower launch price.

What the launch-price gap does—and does not—tell you
Using the manufacturers’ US starting prices, the S25 FE launched $349.01 below the Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 8 Pro’s price and the S25 FE’s price refer to separate launch periods, and the comparison does not establish today’s street prices or equal storage configurations. Discounts, regional variants, carrier offers and remaining stock can change the actual gap.

For a useful purchase comparison, look up both phones in your country and match storage capacity and sales conditions. A lower current price on one model may matter more than the original launch difference; check the exact model and seller before comparing.

Where the specifications point to different strengths
Camera hardware: more reach on paper with the Pixel
The Pixel 8 Pro has higher-resolution ultrawide and telephoto sensors on paper, and Google specifies 5x optical zoom. Samsung lists a 3x optical telephoto for the S25 FE. That makes the Pixel the more promising specification-sheet choice if longer telephoto reach is important. Megapixel counts and zoom range alone do not establish which phone takes better photos: the available sources do not provide controlled, head-to-head image tests.

Display: same size, different published detail
Both displays measure 6.7 inches. Samsung publishes an FHD+ resolution category and up to 120Hz for the S25 FE. Google’s cited launch announcement identifies the Pixel’s Super Actua display and highlights brightness, but it does not supply an equivalent complete resolution-and-refresh specification in the cited passage. The marketing names are not directly comparable measurements.
Charging: Samsung provides a specific estimate
Samsung gives a 4,900 mAh typical battery capacity and says the S25 FE can reach about 65% in around 30 minutes using a 45W adapter. The adapter and 5A cable are separate purchases. Battery capacity and a charging estimate do not show which phone lasts longer in everyday use; no controlled battery comparison is established here.

Performance: chip names are not a benchmark
The Pixel 8 Pro uses Google Tensor G3, while Samsung specifies Exynos 2400 (4nm) for the S25 FE. Those names identify the processors, but they do not by themselves establish relative sustained speed, heat, power efficiency or performance in a buyer’s apps. Treat them as specifications rather than proof of a performance winner.

- Lean toward the Pixel 8 Pro if longer stated optical zoom and higher-resolution ultrawide and telephoto camera hardware are your priorities, and the current price in your market makes sense. These are hardware distinctions, not a guarantee of superior photos.
- Lean toward the Galaxy S25 FE if it is meaningfully cheaper at the same storage level, or if Samsung’s stated 45W charging support and published battery capacity suit your needs. Confirm whether you need to buy the adapter and cable separately.
- For either phone, compare the local model, same-capacity storage, seller terms and update wording. Google describes seven years of software updates, including OS upgrades, security updates and Feature Drops, starting from first US Google Store availability. Samsung describes seven OS generations and seven years of security updates from global launch; the terms are similar in duration but not identical.
Neither specification list settles overall camera quality, real-world battery life or sustained performance. If one of those decides the purchase, seek comparable independent testing for the exact regional models rather than treating listed hardware as a test result.
