If you’re buying new, the choice comes down to price: the Pixel 11 starts at $899 in the US with 256GB of storage, so compare that against whatever discount the Pixel 10 is getting today. The Pixel 11 brings a newer Tensor G6 chip, a new main camera sensor and faster Qi2.2 wireless charging. Most of the performance and camera gains below are Google’s own claims, not independent test results.

What actually changed
Tensor G6 vs Tensor G5
Google says the Tensor G6 delivers 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches. It also says on-device AI tasks can run up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy. These are manufacturer figures, and Google does not make clear here what they are measured against. Treat them as direction, not a promise of how your phone will feel. The Tensor G5 debuted with the Pixel 10 in August 2025, and nothing here suggests it is struggling.
Camera
The headline change is a larger 48MP main sensor with, per Google, 56% more light sensitivity. That should matter most in dim scenes, but a sensor spec doesn’t guarantee better photos in every situation. Google also advertises 30x Super Zoom built on the 5x telephoto lens. Check hands-on reviews with side-by-side samples before paying extra for the camera alone.

- Long battery life: With 30+ hours of reliable power and upgraded wireless charging, your Google Pixel 11 can charge 25% faster than before[5,6]; it even powers up to 55% in about 30 minutes with ultra-fast wired charging[7]

Storage
Google says every Pixel 11 starts at 256GB. According to Android Central, the Pixel 10 came in 128GB and 256GB, and the Pixel 11 comes in 256GB and 512GB. If you would have bought a 128GB Pixel 10 and then needed more space, the Pixel 11’s base tier closes that gap. Compare prices at the same storage size, not base model to base model.
Wireless charging
Google lists Qi2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W for the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro. Android Central lists the Pixel 10 at up to 15W. You only get the faster rate with a charger that supports it, so confirm the charger’s rating and compatibility on Google’s Pixel hardware specs page before buying accessories.

Software support
This isn’t a differentiator. Google promises seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates for the Pixel 11, and Android Central reports the same for the Pixel 10. The Pixel 10, launched a year earlier, will simply reach the end of its window a year sooner. Check Google’s update policy page for the exact end date of your model.

Which one should you buy?
You own a Pixel 10
Stay put. Android Central, after a year with the Pixel 10, also concludes that Pixel 10 owners have little reason to upgrade. The software support period is the same length, and the changes are incremental. The exceptions are real but narrow: you’re constantly short on storage, you want faster wireless charging, or low-light camera performance is a genuine frustration.
You’re buying new
Price decides it. The Pixel 11 makes sense if its price, with the extra base storage, is close to what you would pay for a comparable Pixel 10. It also gives you a year more of calendar-based support and the newest chip. The Pixel 10 makes sense if retailers are discounting it enough that the savings outweigh the changes above, especially if you don’t care about the camera sensor or faster charging.
