Reports say Google One storage plans can appear to “disappear” or become difficult to view after Google adds a new AI-related tier such as AI Ultra. If you’re seeing fewer plan cards, missing upgrade buttons, or a page that focuses only on AI features, you’re not alone—and there are still ways to confirm what you’re paying for and what storage tiers you can switch to.
This guide focuses on practical ways to locate your storage options, verify billing, and fix the most common causes of “hidden” plans—whether you’re on the web, Android, or iPhone/iPad.

What’s happening: Google One storage plans that look hidden
Instead of showing the full set of storage plan cards (for example 100GB, 200GB, 2TB), your Google One page may show a simplified view: current plan status, AI tier messaging, or prompts that don’t clearly surface the storage upgrades you expect.
In many cases, your storage is still tied to your subscription—you just can’t easily see or select other storage tiers from the page layout you’re currently viewing.

Why this happens when AI Ultra is added
When Google introduces an AI-heavy add-on or new subscription tier, the Google One UI often changes. That can temporarily hide storage plan selection behind different navigation paths or eligibility rules.
- A/B testing and staged rollouts: Different accounts get different layouts at the same time.
- Bundling UI changes: Storage and AI benefits can be presented together, so storage upgrades don’t show as separate cards.
- Eligibility constraints: Some regions, accounts, or family setups may be restricted from certain plan switches.
- Localization and pricing structure: Plan display can vary by country and currency.
Before you change anything: quick checklist
Spend 2 minutes verifying these items so you don’t accidentally downgrade at the wrong time.
- Know your current plan: Check what tier you’re on and whether it’s monthly or annual.
- Confirm storage usage: If you’re near your limit, you may need to back up or delete data first.
- Decide whether you want AI or just storage: UI can make these feel like one bundled product even when you might have options.
- Check family/shared plans: Family Manager settings can affect what members can change.
How to find your real storage options (web)
Using the web interface is usually the fastest way to find plan management when the app UI is confusing or incomplete.
Method: Google One Storage page
- Go to
one.google.comand sign in. - Open the section that relates to storage (look for a Storage or Manage storage option).
- Look for links such as Change plan, See plans, or an area showing your current storage tier and remaining space.
- If you don’t see upgrade cards immediately, try a page refresh and then switch between Plans vs Billing style tabs if they exist.
If the page only shows AI Ultra messaging, scroll for a storage status panel. Many accounts still display the current tier there even when plan cards are hidden.
Method: Settings in your Google account
- Open
myaccount.google.comand sign in. - Find the area for Payments and subscriptions.
- Open Subscriptions and locate your Google One subscription.
- Select the subscription to view billing details and any available plan change options.
This path is useful when Google One pages are reorganized, because subscription management is often still consistent in the Google account “Payments” area.
How to check from your phone (Android and iPhone)
Mobile apps can lag behind the web UI during rollouts. If you can’t see plan options in-app, it doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t change your storage—it may just mean you’re looking at the wrong screen.

- The available storage capacity may vary.
Android: Google One app
- Open the Google One app on Android.
- Tap your profile area or Settings (wording varies by version).
- Go to Manage storage or Storage.
- Check for a Change plan option. If you only see AI Ultra prompts, open Billing or Manage subscription if those appear.
If the plan list is missing, proceed to the web methods above. It’s the more reliable option during UI changes.

iPhone and iPad: Google One app
- Open the Google One app on iPhone or iPad.
- Go to Settings (or your account/plan card).
- Tap Manage storage / Storage.
- Look for Change plan. If you don’t see it, check for Manage subscription or a link that takes you to the browser.
On iOS, some subscriptions can show plan changes through the system subscription page. If you’re still stuck, check the iOS subscription controls in Settings as a fallback.
How to switch storage plans when the upgrade button is missing
Missing upgrade CTAs (call-to-action buttons) are common when Google reorganizes subscription screens around AI benefits. Use the right path and you’ll still usually be able to change storage.
If you’re already on a higher tier
If your current storage tier is already above the plan you’re trying to switch to, Google may hide downgrade/upgrade options depending on UX rules. Verify your exact tier first, then look for an explicit Manage or Change plan entry.
Try the subscription details route (myaccount.google.com → Payments and subscriptions) to force a consistent view of what you can change.

Some layouts show AI Ultra messaging first and postpone the storage selection panel. Scroll for storage usage and current tier, then look for a link like Storage plans or View plans.

If you still can’t find plan cards, go straight to the web storage page or subscription management via Google account settings.
If you don’t see the plan cards at all
Use these fallback routes in order:
- Google One web storage management page (
one.google.com). - Google account subscription management (
myaccount.google.com→ Payments and subscriptions). - Try a different browser profile or incognito mode to rule out cached UI state.
Billing and plan details you should verify
Even when storage plans are “hidden,” billing and storage entitlements still matter. Confirm what you’re paying for before making changes.
Recurring charges vs one-time add-ons
AI Ultra-style products can be presented like add-ons but handled as part of the same subscription agreement. In your subscription details page, look for:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Billing cycle (monthly vs annual)
- Whether charges mention storage, AI benefits, or a bundle
- The effective date of any change
Region and currency differences
Plan names and prices can vary by country. If you’re comparing what friends see in the US to what you see elsewhere, the plan cards may look different—even if the underlying storage tiers are functionally similar.
Shared storage and family plans
If you’re in a Google One family group, the group owner (Family Manager) often controls upgrades/downgrades. Members may see plan status but not be able to change tiers.
Troubleshooting: when storage plans won’t show
If you’re seeing a “broken” Google One page with no storage plan selection, treat it like a web/app state problem first, then move to account-level issues.

Browser fixes (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
- Try incognito/private mode: Sign in fresh and revisit
one.google.com. - Clear site data: Clear cookies and cache for
google.comorone.google.com. - Disable extensions temporarily: Ad blockers and privacy tools can break login-driven UI rendering.
- Switch browsers: Chrome ↔ Edge ↔ Firefox. This often avoids a single browser-specific rendering issue.
- Remove VPN/proxy: Some plans display differently by region signals.
App fixes (Android and iOS)
- Update the app: Install the latest Google One version from the Play Store/App Store.
- Force close and reopen: Fully restart the app.
- Clear cache on Android: Settings → Apps → Google One → Storage → Clear cache (avoid clearing data unless needed).
- Re-login: If your session is stale, sign out and sign back in.
Account fixes
- Use the correct Google account: Many “missing plan” issues happen when you’re signed into multiple accounts in a browser.
- Check payment method readiness: If a payment fails or is pending, plan selection can be restricted.
- Look for pending changes: Some subscriptions require you to wait for an effective date before new changes appear.
When it’s actually an eligibility issue
In staged rollouts, Google can hide certain plans from accounts that are:
Recommended Free Tools
- Ineligible for a specific AI tier
- In the middle of a plan migration
- On an unsupported bundle configuration for your region
If troubleshooting doesn’t help, check the subscription details page and compare what you can change from there. If nothing is editable, it’s likely a backend eligibility rule rather than a UI glitch.
Comparing common Google One storage tiers (typical US pricing)
Prices and plan availability vary by country, but US tiers are often structured around 100GB up to 2TB and beyond. Use this as a sanity check when you can finally see the plan cards.
| Storage tier | Typical US monthly price | Common use case |
|---|---|---|
| 100GB | $1.99 | Light photo/video backup, smaller email needs |
| 200GB | $2.99 | Moderate photo libraries, more buffer |
| 2TB | $9.99 | Families, heavy Photos backups, longer retention |
| 5TB | $24.99 | Power users, larger shared libraries |
| 10TB | $49.99 | Small teams, large backups |
| 20TB | $99.99 | High-capacity archiving |
If your Google One page shows AI Ultra but doesn’t show storage tier options, use the web subscription management path to confirm whether your storage entitlement can be changed independently.

Why do I only see AI Ultra options instead of storage plan cards?
Google may be presenting a consolidated subscription UI that highlights AI features first, especially during rollouts. Check the Google account Payments and subscriptions page to view what’s editable.
Will my email and Google Photos storage still be affected if I can’t see plan options?
Your current storage entitlement continues until your billing cycle changes or your subscription is modified. The risk is only if you’re approaching your storage limit and you can’t upgrade in time.

Can I keep AI Ultra but change only my storage tier?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no—depending on how your account bundle is configured. The most reliable way to confirm is the subscription details screen in myaccount.google.com.
Does family sharing change what I can upgrade or downgrade?
Yes. If you’re not the group owner, plan changes may be restricted to the Family Manager. Your account can show status but not allow switching tiers.
What should I do if switching plans fails or the page errors out?
Try incognito mode, disable extensions, and verify you’re signed into the correct Google account. If it still fails, use the subscription management page in Google account settings to attempt the change there.
Bottom Line
If Google One storage plans look hidden after AI Ultra is added, it’s usually a UI rollout, bundling, or eligibility presentation problem—not a permanent loss of your storage entitlement. Use one.google.com and then fall back to myaccount.google.com → Payments and subscriptions to confirm what you can change.
When you’re near your storage limit, don’t wait on plan cards in the app. Verify your current tier and billing details immediately, then upgrade from the most reliable screen you can access.
