Is there a confirmed Google Camera APK for the POCO X8 Power?
Not on the evidence currently available. A search listing from GETDroidTips advertises “Latest GCam 9.6.19 Versions” for the POCO X8 Power, but the page could not be opened to verify the APK, developer, signature, release date, configuration file or installation directions. This guide is for the POCO X8 Power, not the similarly named POCO X8. The two are separate phones, and their camera hardware and software implementation should not be assumed to match. The POCO X8 Power launched in India on 4 September 2026, according to secondary specification sources. The Indian firmware catalog identifies model 2609FPC74I, codename “brussels,” and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16; regional variants are not fully established. Those sources list a 50MP OIS main camera, 8MP ultrawide and 32MP front camera. The presence of these lenses does not show that a GCam port can access them; lens availability, image quality and stability must be checked on the actual handset and exact port.
What to check before installing a GCam port APK
Check Camera2 API capability
GCam ports communicate with the phone’s camera hardware through Android’s Camera2 API. GCam Hub’s general guidance says ports require Camera2 API support, but no POCO X8 Power-specific capability report was found. General compatibility information—including references to modern Snapdragon chipsets—does not establish that a particular build supports this phone or all its cameras. Use a reputable Camera2 capability checker or a trustworthy device-specific report to inspect your own phone. Do not infer support from the chipset name alone, and do not modify system properties or root the phone merely because an unverified download page mentions build.prop.

- Find the port developer’s name, exact version, supported Android versions and a clear changelog.
- Check that the download comes from the developer or a reputable port index, and review the APK’s package identity and signing information where available.
- Look for recent reports from POCO X8 Power owners that specify their Android and HyperOS versions, the tested build, and whether it launches, saves images and accesses each lens.
- Avoid pages that provide no verifiable developer, unexplained redirects, bundled installers or instructions that require disabling device security.
Understand what remains untested
No verified config file or device-specific installation instructions were established. There is also no confirmed report that a port exposes the main, ultrawide and front cameras, saves reliably, or improves photos over POCO’s stock camera. Do not choose or rank a build on the basis of a version number alone.

How to install only after you have verified a build
- Record your software version: open Settings > About phone and note the model and HyperOS/Android version. Menu wording can vary by software release.
- Check compatibility: verify Camera2 API capability and find a recent report for the POCO X8 Power on the same or a closely matching software version.
- Obtain the APK from a verifiable source: confirm the developer, build details and file identity before downloading. Do not use a guessed download link or assume the indexed “GCam 9.6.19” claim is confirmed.
- Install cautiously: Android may ask permission to install apps from the browser or file manager you used. Grant that permission only if you trust the source; install the APK and then revoke the permission if you no longer need it.
- Test before relying on it: open the app, try each camera, take photos and videos, and confirm files save correctly. If it crashes, produces blank images or cannot access a lens, uninstall it and return to the stock camera.
Should you replace the stock camera?
No recommendation to replace it is supported without a working, device-tested port. Keep the built-in camera app available unless a specific GCam build has been verified on your POCO X8 Power and meets your needs in practical use. A third-party port may behave differently across Android versions, firmware releases and individual camera modules.
