Choose Google AI Plus if you want a moderate increase in Gemini access and the local storage bundle suits you. Choose Google AI Pro if you expect heavier use or need its more extensive access to advanced features and bundled services. The better value depends on the price, storage amount and feature availability shown for your country; Google’s official plan pages do not describe one consistent Plus configuration.
What’s the difference between Google AI Plus and Pro?
Google describes AI Plus as providing 2× Gemini usage limits and AI Pro as providing 4× limits, compared with people who do not subscribe to a Google AI plan. These are relative limits, not fixed prompt allowances: Google notes that session limits and other restrictions may apply. See Google One’s AI plan details.

Pro is the broader-access tier. Google lists expanded Gemini and Deep Research access, more AI features in Google Search, and expanded access in Gemini Notebook and other tools. Some features are limited to particular markets, so a feature on Google’s comparison page is not necessarily available to every subscriber.
| What to compare | Google AI Plus | Google AI Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Gemini usage limits | 2× the limits for non-AI subscribers, according to Google; session limits may apply. | 4× the limits for non-AI subscribers, according to Google; session limits may apply. |
| Cloud storage | 400 GB or 2 TB, depending on the plan option or market shown by Google. | 5 TB in Google’s current AI plan details. |
| Advanced features | More access than a non-AI plan; check the local comparison for included tools and limits. | Expanded access to Gemini, Deep Research, Google Search AI features, Gemini Notebook and other tools; availability varies by feature and market. |
Google’s plan information includes a naming note: “The Google AI Premium plan has a new name: Google AI Plus. It includes the same benefits, like the Gemini app, Gemini Notebook, 400 GB of storage and more.” That statement describes the plan information on that page; other official plan views show a 2 TB Plus option, so check the configuration offered where you live.
#1 Best Overall
- Attention-grabbing design meets the latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera on the new Google Pixel 11 Pro; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can live in the moment[1]; and the phone is available in two sizes
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
- Magic Capture catches the moment as you live it: With just one tap, Pixel 11 Pro captures video and photos, and automatically edits, crops, and unblurs a curated collection, ready to share – and you get the memory of how it felt to be in the moment
- Two new cameras for more brilliant photos: A larger telephoto sensor captures 30% more light for clear, beautiful photos and videos, even in the dark[3]; Pixel’s longest zoom ever helps you capture details from impressive distances[4]
How much do Plus and Pro cost?
Google’s US plan selector search result listed Plus at $9.99 per month with 2 TB and Pro at $19.99 per month with 5 TB in 2026. The opened selector showed conflicting or older details, so treat those amounts as unconfirmed rather than current universal prices. Check Google One’s plan selector for the live price and benefits in your country before subscribing.
Compare the full bundle, not just the monthly price. Plus may be the better fit when its local storage amount and moderate Gemini increase meet your needs. Pro costs more in markets where its listed price is higher, but may justify that difference if you will use its expanded access or value the included services. Google lists YouTube Premium Lite with Pro in some markets and says availability varies by country.

Who should choose Google AI Plus?
- You want more Gemini access, but do not expect sustained heavy use. Plus offers a higher relative usage limit than a non-AI plan without requiring Pro’s higher tier.
- The local storage offer meets your needs. Google’s materials show Plus with either 400 GB or 2 TB, so confirm which amount is attached to the subscription in your region.
- You do not need a Pro-specific or more extensive feature. Review the local comparison for the tools and limits you actually plan to use, rather than upgrading for features that are unavailable where you live.
- The local price makes the bundle worthwhile. Compare it with the cost and storage you would otherwise choose, using the price shown at checkout.
Who should choose Google AI Pro?
- You expect to use Gemini regularly and may run into Plus limits. Pro’s listed 4× relative usage limit is higher than Plus’s 2×, though it is not a guaranteed number of prompts.
- You need expanded access to Pro-listed tools. This may include expanded Deep Research or access to Gemini Notebook and other tools; confirm the exact feature and its regional availability.
- You need more storage than the local Plus option provides. Google lists 5 TB for Pro in its current AI plan details.
- You would use an included service available in your country. For example, YouTube Premium Lite is listed with Pro in some markets, not as a universal benefit.
How to decide which plan is right for you
- Check your Google account type. Google says personal Google Accounts can subscribe to Google AI plans. If you use Google Workspace, review Google’s separate Workspace offerings.
- Open the plan comparison for your country. Confirm the Plus storage amount, Pro storage, current monthly prices and the features included locally. Google’s plan details are available at Google AI plans; the UK page is at Google AI plans in the UK.
- Match the plan to your likely use. If a moderate increase is enough, start with Plus. If you specifically need Pro’s broader access or expect to use Gemini heavily, compare Pro’s added cost with those benefits.
- Check restrictions before paying. Google says age, language, system and other restrictions may apply. Some features are US-only, and YouTube Premium Lite availability varies by country.
Google says AI Plus, Pro and Ultra are available in more than 140 countries and territories, but that does not mean every listed feature or storage configuration is offered in each one. Its Google One benefits article, updated October 2, 2026, and regional plan pages describe availability and benefits that can vary by location.
