GoFullPage vs. FireShot: Full-Page Screenshot Features Compared

GoFullPage focuses on full-page captures and clearly tiered editing; FireShot lists more capture modes, exports, and integrations. Compare their published features and verify current browser-specific terms.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose GoFullPage if you mainly need scrolling full-page captures and want a clearly stated free-versus-Premium editing boundary. Choose FireShot if you need more capture modes, batch or all-tabs workflows, export formats, and sharing options. Those differences come from the vendors’ published feature lists, not hands-on testing; check the current listing and terms for your browser before installing.

Which one fits your workflow?

Choose GoFullPage for straightforward full-page capture

GoFullPage is the more focused choice if your main task is capturing an entire scrolling webpage and saving it locally. Its Premium page lists unlimited screenshots and advanced scroll capture in both Basic and Premium, while placing crop, URL/date timestamps, smart PDF page splitting, blur, text, and highlighting in Premium. The Firefox listing describes PNG, JPEG, and PDF output. The listing also warns that exceptionally large pages may be split into images in separate tabs.

The vendor’s current Premium page advertises $1 per month with a one-week trial. Treat that as a changeable offer and confirm it on the current Premium page before subscribing.

Choose FireShot for capture and export breadth

FireShot’s published feature list covers more than a single full-page capture: it advertises visible-area and selected-area capture, all open tabs, and batch workflows, alongside an editor and a wider list of file formats. Its sharing options may matter if you send captures to other programs or upload them rather than just saving a local file.

The vendor says captures are local and “offline-safe,” and says Pro supports Chromium-based browsers, SeaMonkey, and Pale Moon. These are vendor claims. Check the listing, permissions, and feature availability for the particular browser and edition you intend to use.

If cost or free editing decides it

GoFullPage’s published page makes its Premium editing boundary comparatively clear, but FireShot’s reviewed official site does not provide a current price or complete free-versus-Pro feature matrix. Do not assume FireShot’s older terms still apply: its official manual is dated 2016. Compare the current in-browser offer and the exact features included before choosing.

Capture modes, editing, and output in detail

Capturing one page, a region, or many tabs

Both extensions advertise full-page capture beyond the visible viewport. FireShot additionally lists visible-area and selected-area capture, plus all-tabs and batch capture. That makes its published workflow broader if you routinely capture a specific region or several pages in one run. GoFullPage’s Firefox listing specifically mentions complex pages with inner scrollable elements and embedded iframes; this is a vendor description, not a guarantee that every site will capture perfectly.

Editing and redaction

GoFullPage lists crop, URL/date timestamp, smart PDF page splitting, blur, text, and highlighting under Premium. FireShot advertises crop, highlight, blur, erase, and text or shape annotations in its editor. If you need to obscure sensitive information, verify the editor and plan available in your browser before relying on it; the published feature lists do not establish identical behavior or feature parity across editions.

Image and PDF formats

GoFullPage’s Firefox listing names PNG and JPEG, plus PDF with configurable paper sizes. FireShot lists PDF, PNG, GIF, JPEG, and BMP, and advertises searchable text and direct links in PDF. If selectable text or retained links in a PDF matter, confirm the result with your own pages and chosen version rather than assuming the feature list guarantees a specific document outcome.

Sharing and integrations

The reviewed GoFullPage pages describe downloading or exporting captures locally. FireShot advertises clipboard and email actions, OneNote and other-program export, uploads, FTP or custom upload destinations, and an API library. These options are useful only if they fit your workflow; a local image or PDF may be all you need.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Browser support and version checks

GoFullPage has an official Firefox Add-ons listing. At access time, that listing showed version 8.9, last updated September 24, 2026, and a 4.4 rating from 7 reviews. That is a small store snapshot, not proof of capture quality. The Chrome publisher page lists version 8.9 dated September 24, 2026, including a fix for a new URL requirement in Chromium 153 and improved dialogs. Its older changelog records fixes involving scrolling, frames, PDF export, and page-specific cases; maintenance history does not guarantee success on every page.

ScreenshotNeo: an alternative when you need an API or AI-agent workflow

If you need screenshots in an application, script, or AI-agent workflow rather than a browser extension, try ScreenshotNeo first. It is a website screenshot API and MCP server; its clean-shot process accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status.

For a direct API request, create an account and replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key. This cURL example saves a WebP capture of the target page; see the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for parameters and response details.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The service has 1,000 screenshots per month free with no card required; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Sign up for free: 1,000 screenshots a month, no card.

How to make the choice

  1. List your capture tasks. For occasional full-page captures, both tools advertise the core capability. For selected regions, visible viewport captures, batch runs, or all open tabs, FireShot explicitly lists those modes.
  2. Check editing needs. If you need blur, crop, annotation, or PDF splitting, confirm whether the exact feature is available in your chosen browser and plan. GoFullPage marks several editing tools as Premium; FireShot’s complete current free-versus-Pro boundary is not established by its reviewed official pages.
  3. Match the output to the destination. Compare the listed image formats and PDF options with the format your next tool accepts. If searchable text or links in PDF are required, FireShot advertises these, but validate the output on a representative page.
  4. Confirm price and listing. Check the vendor page and official browser store on the day you install or pay. GoFullPage’s published price and trial can change, and a current FireShot price is not established here.
  5. Test a representative page. Include the kinds of pages you actually capture—especially long pages, pages with embedded frames, or complex scrolling regions—and inspect the resulting image or PDF before building a workflow around it.

Common problems and what to check

  • A long page is split across tabs or images: GoFullPage’s Firefox listing warns this can happen with exceptionally large pages. Check whether separate images are acceptable or whether another capture/output approach better fits the page.
  • An embedded or nested scrolling area is missing: GoFullPage describes support for inner scrollable elements and iframes, but does not promise every site will work. Try a representative page and inspect the capture; confirm the extension is current if the result is incomplete.
  • An editing option is unavailable: Check the plan and browser-specific feature listing. GoFullPage places several editor tools in Premium; FireShot’s current free-versus-Pro matrix is not established by the reviewed site.
  • Your browser or export option is absent: Verify the current official store listing and supported browser version rather than relying on a general compatibility claim. FireShot’s vendor-stated browser support should be confirmed for your exact browser.
  • A price or trial differs from an old page or guide: Use the vendor’s current offer and checkout details. The GoFullPage price/trial is volatile, and old FireShot manual terms date to 2016.
