The available listing snapshots do not confirm a $50 difference between equivalent configurations. Each US product-page excerpt showed $269.99, and a collection-page excerpt also showed that amount for both models. Because the selected RAM and SSD bundles are not confirmed as matching, those figures do not establish either a $50 premium or true price parity. If the M6 costs more for the configurations you are considering, its clearest specification-based case is its newer platform, advertised Radeon 760M, DDR5 memory and listed Wi-Fi 6E. Those features may make it a better fit for a particular setup, but the listings alone do not show how much faster it is for your applications.
Which one is better for CPU-heavy work?
The M5 has more listed CPU cores and threads: eight and 16, compared with six and 12 for the M6. GMKtec lists the M6’s Ryzen 5 7640HS at up to 5.0 GHz and the M5’s Ryzen 7 7730U at up to 4.5 GHz. Core counts, maximum listed frequencies and processor labels are not enough to establish which mini PC will finish a real workload sooner. No comparable independent benchmark results are established here.

For compiling, rendering, batch processing or other sustained workloads, look for independent tests of both exact mini PC configurations under similar conditions. For everyday responsiveness, the listed processor specifications are not a substitute for testing the apps you use.
Which one should you choose for gaming?
GMKtec identifies the M6’s integrated graphics as Radeon 760M, while the retrieved M5 listing excerpt only says integrated Radeon graphics. That makes the M6’s graphics model clearer on paper, but it does not establish a measured gaming advantage or what frame rates either mini PC can deliver.

For a gaming decision, seek tests that name the exact model and configuration and use the games, resolution and settings you care about. Without comparable results, neither the model number nor the M6’s listed graphics name is enough to promise a better experience.

Memory is not interchangeable by generation
The M6 is listed with DDR5 SO-DIMM memory, while the M5 uses DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM. The EU M6 page specifies two memory slots and capacity up to 128GB; the M5 US excerpt specifies two slots and up to 64GB. Those M6 capacity details are regional listing specifications, not a universal guarantee for every M6 configuration. Match the memory type and verify the exact unit’s supported capacity before buying an upgrade.

Verify the M6 storage interface for your region
Both product specifications describe two M.2 storage slots, but the M6 pages do not describe the interface consistently: the US page says PCIe 3.0, while the EU page says PCIe 4.0 support and notes PCIe 3.0 drives shipped in that listing. Confirm the exact regional unit and included drive before selecting an SSD. The M5 listing specifies two M.2 NVMe slots.
