Macworld’s DealPost reports that code KOOFR brings Koofr’s 1TB lifetime-storage offer to $129.99 through October 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. This is a time-limited third-party promotion for Koofr—not an Apple migration tool or a guaranteed substitute for every iCloud feature. Check the live offer and checkout terms before buying.
How to claim the Koofr 1TB offer
- Open the Macworld DealPost offer.
- Confirm the offer is still available and that the checkout shows the 1TB plan and the current price.
- Enter code KOOFR wherever the offer checkout requests a code, and verify the discount is applied before paying.
- Complete the purchase only after reviewing the checkout terms, including redemption eligibility and what “lifetime” means for this subscription.
Macworld’s DealPost Team, in a page credited to StackCommerce and dated October 5, 2026, lists the price as $129.99 and the deadline as October 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The page warns that StackSocial prices can change, so the checkout—not an earlier advertised figure—determines what you can actually buy. The offer page does not spell out the contract definition of “lifetime” or detailed redemption restrictions.

What you get—and what “ditch iCloud” does not mean
The offer is for a Koofr 1TB cloud-storage subscription. It does not establish that Koofr will automatically transfer an iCloud library, reproduce Apple services, or replace every part of an Apple account. Treat it as another place to store and access files, then decide whether it fits your backup, sync, sharing, and device needs.
Recommended Free Tools
Koofr says its service can be accessed through web, desktop and mobile apps, as well as WebDAV and rclone. Its materials also describe desktop synchronization, mobile-media backup, file-management tools, and connections to Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive. The promotion separately advertises no device limit, duplicate finding, and file-renaming tools; those specific claims come from the offer page.

How the deal compares with Koofr’s standard 1TB plan
| Option | Published price and term | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Promoted Koofr 1TB offer | $129.99 with code KOOFR; offer page says it expires October 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. | Macworld DealPost/StackCommerce promotion. Check live checkout terms; the offer page does not define “lifetime” or fully state redemption restrictions. |
| Koofr standard 1TB tier | €10 per month on Koofr’s official pricing page, which says paid subscriptions are currently yearly. | Koofr says listed prices include 22% VAT and the final amount can vary by country. This is not a like-for-like currency, term, tax, or inclusion comparison with the promotion. |
Because the currencies, billing terms, taxes, and offer details differ, these figures alone do not establish which option is better value for a particular buyer.
Access, sync, and WebDAV limits
Apps and connected services
Koofr lists browser, desktop, and mobile access, along with WebDAV and rclone. Its official materials say users can connect Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive accounts, synchronize files through its desktop client, and back up mobile media. Koofr also says deleted files can be recovered for up to 30 days. These are provider-described capabilities, not independent performance or reliability findings.

- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
What WebDAV can and cannot do
Koofr’s WebDAV connection supports file operations such as uploading, downloading, copying, deleting, and moving. Koofr says WebDAV does not support synchronization or sharing, so it is not a replacement for a sync client or a share-link workflow.
Koofr’s help documentation identifies a 50 MB default maximum transfer size in Windows’ WebDAV client. That is a Windows client limitation, not a general Koofr file-size cap; Koofr’s features page says the service has no individual file-size limit for general use.

Understand Koofr’s encryption options
Koofr says data is encrypted in transit and on its servers, and that data is stored in EU-based data centers. Its features page says the servers are hosted in Germany in ISO 27001-certified data centers and describes TLS/SSL protection in transit and server-side encryption at rest. These are Koofr’s own statements, not the results of an independent security audit.
For client-side encryption, Koofr offers Vault, an open-source encrypted folder that Koofr says is included in every plan and compatible with rclone. The distinction matters: Koofr describes ordinary storage as encrypted in transit and at rest, while Vault is the separately identified client-side encrypted option. Do not assume every file placed in ordinary Koofr storage is client-side encrypted by default. Koofr’s help documentation states: “Koofr Vault is included in all Koofr plans.”

Decide whether Koofr fits before replacing anything
- Compare the real cost: confirm the promotion’s checkout total and terms, and weigh it against the standard plan only after accounting for the different currency, billing term, and VAT treatment.
- Map your workflow: identify which devices need access and whether you need automatic synchronization, mobile-media backup, file sharing, or just file storage. WebDAV alone does not provide sync or sharing.
- Choose your privacy model: review Koofr’s stated server-side protections and decide whether to put sensitive files in Vault for client-side encryption.
- Check recovery and integrations: determine whether the stated deleted-file recovery period and supported connected cloud accounts meet your needs.
- Keep your current files until you verify the change: confirm that the files you rely on are present and usable in the new setup before treating it as a replacement for an existing cloud workflow.
The cited offer and Koofr product pages do not provide an independently verified comparison with iCloud, or measured speed and reliability results. Whether Koofr is a suitable alternative depends on your specific devices, sync and sharing needs, and preferred privacy setup.
