Its published PC requirements list three hardware tiers—Minimum, Recommended and Ultra—with 12 GB of RAM at minimum, 16 GB for the other tiers, and an SSD with 115 GB of storage required for all three. Steam also requires a hardware ray-tracing-capable GPU, so check that condition as well as the listed graphics-card examples.
Gears of War: E-Day PC requirements at a glance
The components below are examples in the published launch requirements, not a guarantee that every similarly named part will deliver identical performance. The listed tiers do not establish a specific PC resolution or frame-rate target.

| Recommended | Intel Core i7-10700; AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti; AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT; Radeon RX 9060 XT | 16 GB | 115 GB; SSD required |
| Ultra | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D; Intel Core i7-14700K | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti; AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT | 16 GB | 115 GB; SSD required |
These component tiers are reproduced in Tom’s Guide’s requirements table. The Steam listing adds the SSD and hardware ray-tracing-capable GPU conditions.

How to check whether your PC meets the requirements
- Check the graphics card first. Identify your exact GPU model in Windows or your system information, then compare it with the examples above. Steam says a hardware ray-tracing-capable GPU is required; do not assume a card qualifies solely because its name resembles one in a tier.
- Compare the processor. Match the exact CPU model against the tier examples. The published list does not define a resolution or frame-rate promise for each tier, so a tier match is not a specific performance guarantee.
- Check installed RAM. The Minimum tier lists 12 GB; Recommended and Ultra list 16 GB.
- Check the install drive and free space. The requirements list 115 GB and require an SSD. Steam warns that updates may need additional storage, so leave room beyond the initial stated capacity.
On Windows, you can find hardware details in Settings > System > About for the processor and installed RAM. For the graphics card, open Task Manager > Performance > GPU. Check the drive type and available capacity in Windows’ storage settings or your PC manufacturer’s documentation.

What the tiers do—and do not—tell you
Minimum, Recommended and Ultra categorize hardware, but the accessible published specification does not reliably tie each tier to a particular resolution or FPS target. Xbox’s game page describes 4K and up to 60 FPS across Campaign and Multiplayer; that is a general feature statement, not a per-tier PC benchmark or a promise for every PC. See the official Xbox game page for that platform-level information.
Use the tier labels to compare your parts with the listed examples, not to infer a guaranteed frame rate. No independent performance result follows from the requirements list alone.

- NVIDIA Ampere Streaming Multiprocessors: The all-new Ampere SM brings 2X the FP32 throughput and improved power efficiency.
- 2nd Generation RT Cores: Experience 2X the throughput of 1st gen RT Cores, plus concurrent RT and shading for a whole new level of ray-tracing performance.
- 3rd Generation Tensor Cores: Get up to 2X the throughput with structural sparsity and advanced AI algorithms such as DLSS. These cores deliver a massive boost in game performance and all-new AI capabilities.
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure.
- OC Mode : 1500 MHz (Boost Clock)/Default Mode : 1470 MHz (Boost Clock)
PC features to consider after checking compatibility
Steam lists DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR “Redstone,” optional Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation on supported hardware, Variable Rate Shading, and a built-in benchmark. These are features to evaluate once the PC meets the baseline requirements. Their availability depends on hardware, and they do not replace the stated need for a hardware ray-tracing-capable GPU. The Steam store page lists the game’s current PC feature details.
Windows support, launch date and PC availability
Xbox lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 for PC. The game launched worldwide on October 6, 2026, and is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC/Microsoft Store, and Steam. Xbox lists PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate availability. Premium edition early access began October 1, before the worldwide launch. Current platform information is on the Xbox game page; launch details were also announced by Xbox Wire.

Should you upgrade your PC?
Compare the exact GPU and CPU models, installed RAM, and SSD capacity before spending money. If a component falls below the listed examples, the requirements alone cannot establish whether an upgrade is necessary or what performance a settings change would provide. First check whether your existing drive is an SSD and has enough free space, including headroom for updates. Then weigh any potential component change against your budget; the published list is not a benchmark for predicting the benefit of an upgrade.
The final PC specifications followed work on stability and performance after the July multiplayer open beta. Xbox Wire said the specification image in its announcement was updated September 28. Use the launch specifications rather than earlier beta-era requirement lists, and check the live Steam listing for any later changes.
