Availability can vary while games are onboarded, so check the current GeForce NOW listing for your region and account before planning a session.
What is Gears of War: E-Day?
Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel set 14 years before the original Gears of War. It follows Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago as they face the Locust Horde on Emergence Day. NVIDIA describes a campaign alongside cooperative and competitive modes, including Horde Siege and Versus.

NVIDIA’s PC-game coverage identifies DLSS 4.5, ray tracing and RTX Mega Geometry among the technologies used by the PC version. Those are feature descriptions, not independent performance or image-quality results.
Where can you get the game?
NVIDIA lists Gears of War: E-Day as a release on Steam and Xbox and says it is available on Game Pass. The October 8 announcement confirms GeForce NOW streaming; it does not mean every Gears game or every store version is available through the service. Check the game’s listing and your platform or subscription access before launching.
#1 Best Overall
- AN ORIGIN STORY BEGINS — Fight alongside Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in the gripping origin story of Emergence Day, as the Locust Horde erupts from below.
- A DARKER, GRITTIER THREAT — Face reimagined enemies and a terrifying underground invasion that restores the fear, dread, and intensity at the heart of the Gears of War series.
- MULTIPLAYER EVOLVED — Battle in Horde Siege for large‑scale PvE action or prove your skill in refined Versus PvP with greater precision and competitive depth.
- CLASSIC COMBAT, MODERNIZED — Experience signature cover‑based gameplay enhanced with updated movement, traversal, and controls that feel like Gears while playing like something new.
- CO‑OP YOUR WAY — Play online with up to four players across Campaign, Horde Siege, and Versus, or team up locally with 2‑player split‑screen co‑op on console.
GeForce NOW titles may be added after their store release and rolled out during the week, so catalog availability can vary. NVIDIA had announced the planned GeForce NOW launch in its August 27 Gamescom post; its October 8 GFN Thursday announcement is the confirmation that the game is now streaming.
What does GeForce NOW add?
GeForce NOW streams the game from NVIDIA’s servers rather than requiring a powerful gaming PC at home. NVIDIA says the service can stream to low-power laptops, Macs, mobile devices, handhelds and browsers such as Firefox. It describes RTX 5080-class cloud performance for Ultimate members, but that is NVIDIA’s service description—not a guarantee of identical results on every device, network, membership tier or in every region.

- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
Your practical experience depends on the device and connection you use, as well as current service and regional availability. If you are choosing between local play and streaming, consider the screen you want to use, your internet connection, and whether you already have access to the game through Steam, Xbox or Game Pass.

Is a Fire TV setup an option?
NVIDIA announced a planned expansion of GeForce NOW support to additional Fire TV devices, naming the Fire TV Stick 4K Select. That announcement does not establish that every Fire TV model is supported in every market. Check NVIDIA’s current device compatibility information before buying a device for this purpose.

NVIDIA also said Fire TV users would be able to buy GeForce NOW memberships through Amazon in the coming weeks. The announcement did not confirm that this purchase option is already available, so check the current Amazon and GeForce NOW flows rather than assuming you can subscribe there today. The day-pass mention in NVIDIA’s October 8 post likewise does not establish a universal price or all current membership terms.
