Garmin says its Enduro 4 GPS smartwatch can run for up to 320 hours in activity mode with solar charging, or up to 90 days in smartwatch mode—but both figures depend on specific outdoor-light and usage assumptions. The 51 mm watch pairs those battery estimates with terrain-aware training metrics, routable maps, more than 100 activity profiles and an integrated flashlight. These are Garmin’s launch claims, not independently verified test results.
How long does the Garmin Enduro 4 battery last?
Garmin’s October 6, 2026 announcement lists two headline estimates, each tied to its own mode and solar conditions:

| Mode | Garmin’s estimate | Conditions in Garmin’s estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Activity mode with solar charging | Up to 320 hours | Continuous use for the full period in 50,000-lux conditions, with activity mode (extended battery) selected |
| Smartwatch mode | Up to 90 days | All-day wear with three hours per day outdoors in 50,000-lux conditions |
These are manufacturer estimates, not guarantees. Actual endurance will depend on how the watch is used and the light it receives; the launch announcement does not establish independent battery-test results. Garmin says the watch includes preset power configurations, including Max Accuracy for full-feature tracking on shorter efforts and Max Battery for extended recording.

What training features are new?
Enduro 4’s training emphasis is on pacing and endurance over changing terrain. Garmin lists grade-adjusted pace-based workout targets and grade-adjusted rolling pace, which are intended to help athletes account for hills when planning or interpreting effort.
#1 Best Overall
- The 1.4” Power Sapphire lens harvests the sun’s energy, giving you more power and time between charges
- AutoSelect mode uses SatIQ technology to dynamically determine the GPS mode necessary to maximize battery life without compromising positional accuracy
- The rugged, lightweight design won’t slow you down, and the light UltraFit nylon band provides a secure, comfortable fit during all of your activities
- Navigation tools help you find your way with preloaded TopoActive and ski maps
- A superbright LED flashlight (twice as bright as the fēnix 7X multisport GPS watch) offers variable intensities with a strobe that matches your running cadence; red safety light mode helps you keep an eye on your immediate surroundings while running at night
Stamina zones and curve
Garmin says stamina zones and a stamina curve show how endurance changes over time based on fitness and training history. The announcement describes the feature but does not provide independent evidence of its accuracy or comparative performance.
Rowing and rucking
For indoor rowing, Garmin lists additional insights including VO2 max and a power curve. Rucking features include pack-weight adjustment and target metrics such as calories burned.

How do Garmin’s maps and activity logging work?
The watch includes built-in routable maps and a perspective view. Garmin says an updated map engine has 50% more RAM than Enduro 3 and makes map panning 30% faster. The 30% figure is Garmin’s comparison claim; the announcement does not give an independent test method.

What the launch announcement does—and does not—establish
Garmin presents Enduro 4 as an endurance-focused watch combining long battery estimates, training metrics, navigation and activity logging. Its stated hardware and features make the intended use clear, but Garmin’s announcement is not an independent review: it does not establish real-world battery life, comparative performance against competing watches, or a comprehensive Enduro 3-versus-Enduro 4 buying comparison.
