If you want more stealth after 007 First Light, start with HITMAN World of Assassination for creative approaches and replayable locations, or Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist for a covert-agent story and stealth-action framing. They share some of Bond’s appeal, but neither is another Bond adventure: one follows an assassin, the other Sam Fisher.
What kind of game is 007 First Light?
IO Interactive describes 007 First Light as a reimagined Bond origin story and a third-person action-adventure, launched worldwide on May 27, 2026. PlayStation describes its play as a mix of stealth and cinematic action, including unarmed and weapon-based third-person combat. IO Interactive’s launch announcement and PlayStation’s game page establish that blend, rather than a purely stealth-focused formula.

That distinction helps narrow the alternatives. A stealth sandbox gives you room to observe a location and devise different ways through it; a covert-agent stealth-action game emphasizes operating as an agent, often with spy equipment and a mission-focused thriller premise. The two recommendations below represent those different directions.
Which game should you choose?
| Game | Best fit | What carries over from Bond | Main difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| HITMAN World of Assassination | Creative, replayable stealth scenarios | Disguises, observation, and choosing how to approach a situation | You play assassin Agent 47 and eliminate targets; it is not a heroic spy origin story. |
| Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist | Covert-agent stealth action | A covert-agent lead, stealth-action framing, and spy gadgets | It follows Sam Fisher, not James Bond, and its listed platforms are older systems and PC. |
HITMAN World of Assassination: for creative stealth
HITMAN World of Assassination is the strongest fit if the part you want to repeat is watching a space, using disguises, and improvising a route. PlayStation’s listing describes missions from HITMAN 1, 2, and 3, says the collection has more than 20 locations, and highlights creative or stealthy ways to eliminate targets. Those are claims from the PlayStation game listing, not an independent count.

- ONLY AT AMAZON - SPECIALIST EDITION
- EARN THE NUMBER - Discover a new James Bond origin story, and the events that led a young maverick to become the best MI6 agent.
- A THRILLING ESPIONAGE ADVENTURE - Embark on missions in breathtaking locations, drive iconic vehicles, and dive into a cinematic adventure in pursuit of a rogue agent who’s always one step ahead.
- SPYING, YOUR WAY - Go silent or go loud. Whether fighting with fists or firepower, using gadgets to infiltrate, or bluffing your way past guards, the approach is entirely up to you.
The overlap with Bond is in method, not role. Agent 47 is an assassin whose objectives center on eliminating targets; Bond is a spy protagonist. If what you want is a spy story, that premise is a meaningful difference. If you mainly want stealth, disguises, and multiple ways to handle a scenario, it is the more natural choice.
The cited PlayStation listing offers PS4 and PS5 versions. Check the edition and platform carefully when buying; this recommendation does not establish current pricing or retailer stock.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist: for covert-agent stealth action
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the closer match if you want to play as a covert agent rather than an assassin. Ubisoft describes it as a stealth-action thriller starring Sam Fisher and lists spy equipment including a snake cam and micro tri-rotor drone. See Ubisoft’s official game page.
Ubisoft lists PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U. That list is important when choosing: do not assume a current-generation console version from the franchise name alone, and verify that the game is accessible on your particular system before buying. Ubisoft also states that online features are no longer supported, so multiplayer and co-op do not function. Choose Blacklist for its covert-agent premise and solo stealth-action appeal, not as a current online multiplayer option.

Are these games similar to 007 First Light?
They are similar in selected ingredients, not overall identity. HITMAN shares stealth, disguises, and creative approaches, but its target-elimination objectives and Agent 47 premise make it an assassin game. Blacklist shares the covert-agent role and stealth-action framing, but its protagonist is Sam Fisher. First Light is specifically presented as a Bond origin story that combines stealth and cinematic action.
So, for a sandbox of approaches, pick HITMAN World of Assassination. For a covert-agent thriller with gadgets, consider Splinter Cell: Blacklist, after checking platform access. Neither should be treated as a substitute for Bond’s story or tone.
