The Galaxy S25 Ultra shipped with Android 15 and One UI 7.0, and Samsung committed to seven years of OS and security updates. One UI 7 brought a redesigned interface, the Now Bar and Galaxy AI features—but availability can depend on the device, market, language, account and connectivity. Pre-launch reports are historical predictions; Samsung’s final specifications are the reference for what actually shipped.
Which Galaxy S25 Ultra leaks proved true?
Pre-launch coverage recorded a rumor cycle that included the expectation that One UI 7 would debut with the Galaxy S25 series. That expectation was borne out: Samsung’s specification sheet lists Android 15 and One UI 7.0 for the S25 Ultra. The available historical overview does not establish individual rumored hardware figures, so those should not be treated as confirmed here.

What hardware did Samsung confirm?
The S25 Ultra’s confirmed hardware combines a large, high-refresh-rate display with a multi-camera system, 5G and newer wireless features.

- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).

Samsung also identifies the processor as Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. The company says its ProScaler display image-scaling technology achieved a 40% improvement in image-scaling quality in Samsung’s comparison; that figure is Samsung’s claim, not an independent test result.
What does One UI 7 add?
One UI 7 changes both the interface and the ways users can work with Galaxy AI and Gemini. Samsung describes the update as a redesigned experience with more personalization and control.

A redesigned home and lock screen
Samsung says One UI 7 simplifies the home screen and redesigns widgets and the lock screen. The Now Bar surfaces updates for ongoing activities, putting live activity information where it can be checked without opening the relevant app.

Drawing Assist and Audio Eraser
Drawing Assist combines prompts and sketches to help create images. Audio Eraser is designed to remove unwanted categories of sound from recordings or video. These are editing tools, not guarantees that every result will match a user’s intent.
Gemini actions and Settings search
Samsung says Gemini actions can work across apps, while natural-language search in Settings lets users describe what they want to change instead of relying only on exact menu names. At launch, Samsung Electronics America said Gemini on One UI 7 was available in 46 languages. That launch-language count does not mean every feature or action works in every language.

Now Brief
Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement describes Now Brief as a source of tailored daily suggestions. The Now Brief and Now Bar serve different roles: one surfaces personalized suggestions, while the other shows ongoing activities.

The Galaxy S25 series launched with One UI 7, so S25 Ultra owners did not need to wait for a later update to get that version. Samsung Mobile Press announced on March 18, 2025 that the official rollout to other eligible devices would start April 7, initially for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, then expand to additional devices. Samsung cautioned that availability and timing may vary by market.

Samsung’s support page now notes that One UI 8 is rolling out and builds on One UI 7. That is relevant context for the S25 Ultra: One UI 7 was its launch software, but it is not the latest version identified in Samsung’s current support information.
How long will the Galaxy S25 Ultra get updates?
Samsung’s specification sheet promises seven years of OS and security updates for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The sheet does not state a calendar end date, so the seven-year commitment should not be converted into a specific final support date without a confirmed start-date calculation from Samsung. OS updates and security updates are both included in the commitment.
Why can One UI 7 features differ between users?
Samsung warns that feature availability can vary by model, carrier, country and connectivity. Its One UI 7 information also flags language, account and network requirements. As a result, a feature shown in Samsung’s launch material may not be available to every S25 Ultra owner in the same way or at the same time.

Quick Recap
- Model and carrier: Not every Galaxy model or carrier configuration has the same feature set or rollout timing.
- Country and language: Availability and supported languages can differ by region; the 46-language Gemini figure was Samsung’s launch statement, not a universal feature guarantee.
- Account and connectivity: Some AI actions depend on an account, network access or other connectivity conditions.
