There is no reliable worldwide price difference to quote: the available US figures compare Samsung’s launch starting price with a changeable Nothing product-page price for one configuration.
Price difference depends on country, configuration, and date
In the US, Samsung announced the Galaxy A57 5G at a starting price of $549.99, with availability beginning April 9, 2026. That is a manufacturer-announced launch price, not a live retailer quote (Samsung Newsroom US).

When accessed, Nothing’s US product page displayed $419 beside a crossed-out $499 for an 8GB/128GB Phone (4a) Pro selection. That is a volatile store-page display, and the retrieved page does not establish how long the price lasts (Nothing US). These figures are not equivalent price types, so subtracting them would not produce a dependable, like-for-like price gap.
Samsung’s Japan announcement gives a separate online-shop price of ¥79,800 and says sales there begin April 23, 2026. It should not be treated as a price for the US or another market (Samsung Newsroom Japan). To compare what you would pay, match the country, storage tier, seller, and date for both phones.

Display and everyday performance
Nothing has the larger stated display
The cited diagonals are 6.83 inches for the Nothing and 6.7 inches for the Samsung. That makes the Nothing larger on paper, but screen size alone does not establish which display is brighter, more color-accurate, or better to use outdoors; the available specifications do not settle those comparisons.

Chipset names are not a performance verdict
The A57 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1680, while the Phone (4a) Pro uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, according to the comparison sources. Those names alone do not show which phone performs better in sustained workloads, runs cooler, or delivers higher gaming frame rates. TechRadar says its reviewer tested the A57 for just over two weeks, including gaming and benchmark work, but the cited material does not provide a controlled, directly comparable test against the Nothing phone (TechRadar review).

Camera systems: zoom claims need context
TechRadar lists a 50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide, and 5MP macro rear-camera setup for the A57, plus a 12MP front camera. Nothing promotes a three-camera system and “140x ultra zoom” for the Phone (4a) Pro; the comparison source lists a telephoto camera configuration and a 50MP front camera (Nothing; 91mobiles).
Nothing’s 140x figure is a manufacturer marketing claim, not evidence of 140x optical zoom or image quality at that magnification. If close-up reach matters, check the exact regional camera hardware and independent sample images at the zoom levels you expect to use.

Capacity does not settle battery life
The cited capacities are 5,000mAh for Samsung and 5,080mAh for Nothing. 91mobiles reports battery-test results of 11 hours 36 minutes for the A57 and 13 hours 49 minutes for the Nothing, but the retrieved comparison does not establish the test protocol. Treat those figures as results from that page’s test, not a general endurance guarantee (91mobiles comparison).
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTechRadar lists 45W wired charging for the Galaxy A57. Samsung Japan says the phone can reach 60% in about 30 minutes with Super Fast Charging 2.0 under its stated test conditions; that is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee for every charger or usage condition (Samsung Newsroom Japan). The retrieved official Nothing page did not establish a full battery or charging specification, so a direct charging comparison is unresolved.

Samsung documents IP68 and a long support commitment
Samsung Japan says the A57 has IP68 protection, based on submersion in fresh water up to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. Samsung does not recommend use in the sea or pool, and says water resistance is not permanent and may diminish through normal wear. This is a Japan-market announcement; check the specification for the precise regional model you are considering (Samsung Newsroom Japan).
The same Samsung announcement promises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. The retrieved sources do not establish a comparable official support promise for the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, so that point cannot be treated as a proven Samsung advantage across every regional variant without checking local terms.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy A57 as your leading candidate if Samsung’s stated IP68 rating, its Japan-announced update commitment, or Samsung’s software ecosystem matters most. Confirm that those terms apply to the version sold in your market.
- Choose the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro as your leading candidate if you want the larger stated display or prefer its telephoto-oriented camera presentation. Evaluate the 140x zoom claim as marketing, not optical reach or a quality guarantee.
- Compare local listings before deciding on value. Match storage and memory, check the actual seller and warranty, and use current prices for both phones rather than comparing a launch starting price with a changing store display.
Neither the chipset names nor the available battery-test excerpt establish a universal performance or endurance winner. The better buy depends on local pricing and which documented features matter more to you.
