The project’s author also says it runs calculations on the user’s device and avoids tracking, but those privacy and speed claims have not been independently verified.
What Apex Calc is designed to calculate
Kamal Singh introduced Apex Calc in a DEV Community post published September 27, 2026, as a browser-based financial calculator suite—not a physical calculator. The post describes three tools:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Mortgage payments and amortization: estimate payments and project how a mortgage balance changes over time.
- Hourly-to-salary conversion: convert hourly wages into weekly, monthly, and annual breakdowns, with overtime adjustments.
- Compound interest: model investment growth with periodic contributions.
The post does not detail the calculators’ inputs, formulas, assumptions, or output formats. For a consequential decision, check the assumptions and results against the terms of the loan, pay arrangement, or investment scenario you are evaluating.
What the author says about privacy and performance
Singh says Apex Calc is built with vanilla JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS, and that calculations happen client-side without server roundtrips. The post also claims the utility uses no tracking pixels or external data collection and describes execution as taking less than a second on mobile and desktop. These are the author’s claims; the cited post does not provide an independent privacy audit, source-code review, or performance test. They should not be treated as verified guarantees.
#1 Best Overall
- Profitability calculations; cash flow function Calculates NPV and IRR for uneven cash flows
- Time-value-of-money and Amortization keys solve problems including: pension calculations, loans, mortgages, etc.
- Ideal calculator for students, managers and statisticians
- Built-in functionality : List-based one- and two-variable statistics with four regression options: linear, logarithmic, exponential and power
- The BA II Plus calculator is approved for use on the following professional exams: Chartered Financial Analyst exam. GARP Financial Risk Manager (FRM) exam. Certified Management Accountants exam
The author presents the project as an alternative to calculator pages burdened by display ads, autoplay video, and third-party analytics. That is the author’s motivation, not a measured comparison of other sites.
Where to access it—and what remains uncertain
The DEV post links to a Netlify-hosted Apex Calc deployment. The link records where the author directed readers; it does not establish that the deployment is currently available or that it still matches the version described in the post.

- For a mortgage estimate, compare the displayed assumptions with your loan terms, including the rate, term, and any costs or charges the calculator may not include.
- For wage conversions, verify the hours, pay period, and overtime assumptions against your actual work arrangement. A conversion is not necessarily a take-home pay or tax calculation.
- For compound-interest projections, check the contribution schedule and assumed rate of return. A projection is a scenario, not a promise of investment performance.
- For sensitive financial inputs, do not infer data handling solely from the author’s privacy claims; the cited post does not independently verify them.
