The Galaxy S25 FE has the more versatile rear-camera setup, wireless charging, faster wired charging and a stated seven-year software-support window. The Galaxy A55 offers microSD expansion and a higher-resolution front camera. Both have large FHD+ 120Hz displays. A reliable current price difference cannot be calculated from the available figures: Samsung’s U.S. S25 FE prices are dated September 2025 MSRP, and there is no matching A55 price for the same market and date.

Which display is better?
The S25 FE has a slightly larger 6.7-inch screen and uses Dynamic AMOLED 2X; the A55 has a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel. Both are FHD+ and support a 120Hz refresh rate. The listed size difference is modest, so the panel type and exact screen size matter more than refresh rate when distinguishing them on paper. Specifications alone do not establish which display looks better in everyday use.

The S25 FE’s most substantial listed rear-camera advantage is a dedicated 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. That gives it a distinct zoom lens alongside its 50MP stabilized main camera and 12MP ultrawide. The A55 instead combines its 50MP main and 12MP ultrawide with a 5MP macro camera.

For selfies, the specification advantage reverses: Samsung lists a 32MP front camera for the A55 and a 12MP front camera for the S25 FE. Pixel count alone does not determine image quality, and these specifications are not a substitute for side-by-side photo testing. Samsung lists UHD 4K recording at up to 30fps for the A55.
Battery capacity and charging
The A55 has a slightly higher stated typical capacity, 5,000mAh versus 4,900mAh for the S25 FE. Capacity figures do not prove that the A55 lasts longer in real use; screen settings, signal conditions, software and workload affect endurance.

The S25 FE offers more listed charging options: up to 45W wired charging, fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare. Samsung says it can reach about 65% in around 30 minutes using a 45W adapter, which is sold separately. These are manufacturer claims, not independent comparative test results. The A55 specification cited here does not establish a charging wattage, so a direct speed comparison is not available.
Storage, size and handling
The A55’s 256GB UK configuration supports microSD cards up to 1TB through a hybrid SIM/microSD arrangement. That makes it the clearer choice if removable storage expansion is essential. The S25 FE offers built-in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB configurations, but availability varies by country or region; the cited specifications do not list microSD expansion.

These measurements indicate a thinner, lighter S25 FE on paper, not how comfortable either phone will feel to a particular person.
Software support and regional details
Samsung promises the S25 FE seven generations of operating-system upgrades and seven years of security updates from its global launch. Samsung announced the phone on September 4, 2025, with availability beginning that day in select markets. Update timing can vary by market and carrier. The cited information does not establish an equivalent A55 support commitment or how much support remains for an A55 in a particular region.

For the A55, the cited UK specification gives an octa-core processor with 2.75GHz and 2GHz clock figures and 8GB of memory; it does not formally name the chip in that specification excerpt. Check the precise regional SKU when processor identity matters, rather than assuming every market listing is identical.

Samsung’s sheet says prices are subject to change. These are dated manufacturer suggested retail prices, not verified current selling prices. No same-date, same-market A55 price is established here, so subtracting an A55 figure or naming either phone the price winner would be misleading. To compare actual offers, match country, currency, storage size, unlocked or carrier status, seller and purchase date for both models. Samsung U.S. MSRP list effective September 2025.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S25 FE if you want a 3x optical telephoto camera, wireless charging, up to 45W wired charging, a lighter and thinner body, or Samsung’s stated seven-year update commitment.
- Choose the Galaxy A55 if microSD expansion matters or you prefer its higher listed front-camera resolution.
- Compare current local offers before deciding on value. The specifications point to different strengths, but the available dated S25 FE MSRP is not enough to establish which phone costs less now.
These are specification-based distinctions, not claims about tested speed, photo quality or battery endurance. Both phones combine a large FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate; the better fit depends on which of the camera, charging, storage and support differences matters most to you.
