There is no independent benchmark or popularity study behind these choices. Select by the gameplay loop and operational model that fit your server, rather than treating any list as a universal ranking.
What to check before installing any 2026 plugin
Confirm the server software and exact version
Paper and Spigot compatibility is not interchangeable in every build. Kumandra’s Economy explicitly lists both platforms from 1.16 through 26.2, while the other projects make narrower Paper claims. Donut SMP All In One’s “1.8 through 26.3” wording describes tested endpoints, not proof that every intermediate patch works. uxmEssentials and Glaze target Paper 26.2 or newer, and SMP-Core requires Paper 1.21.6 or newer.

Read the release page for the exact jar you are downloading. A plugin marked compatible with Paper 26.2 may still need a maintenance release when Paper 26.3 changes an API. Do not infer support for a future release, a fork or an unlisted patch.
Match the Java runtime
uxmEssentials and Glaze state Java 25 as a requirement. That is separate from the Minecraft version: a server can be on a supported Paper build but fail to launch the plugin if the host still runs an older Java runtime. Check with java -version on the server and change the runtime in your host panel or service definition before troubleshooting plugin errors.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsMap dependencies and data ownership
- Kumandra’s Economy can use YAML or MySQL and makes Vault optional, so decide whether it should supply the main economy or connect to an existing one.
- SMP-Core requires MySQL or MariaDB and ProtocolLib. Provision credentials, restrict database access and verify that the database host is reachable from the Minecraft machine.
- uxmEssentials uses a shared database for its modules. Treat that database as a single system during backups and migrations rather than copying individual module folders at random.
- For every plugin, identify where balances, claims, homes, auctions and player inventories are stored before enabling it on an established world.
Take a backup and test on a copy
Stop the server cleanly, copy the world, configuration folders and database, then test the plugin on that copy. Exercise a purchase, a sale, a teleport, a permission change and a restart. A backup is particularly important for economy and auction data: a configuration mistake can duplicate currency or make items inaccessible even when the world itself still loads.
Donut SMP All In One: the widest feature package
Donut SMP All In One is aimed at owners who want a market-driven survival server without assembling every feature separately. Its documented tools cover both the economic loop and the social activities that keep an SMP busy: auctions, funded buy orders, Quick Buy, server shops, chest shops, shards, keys, crates and AFK rewards give players multiple ways to obtain and spend value. Homes, teleport requests, teams, bounties and duels add convenience and competition, while staff tools reduce the number of separate administration plugins you need.

Why it can make an SMP feel active
- Several market lanes: A server shop can provide predictable prices, chest shops let players operate storefronts, and auctions create scarcity and discovery.
- Goals beyond mining: Shards, keys, crates and AFK rewards can turn routine play into a longer progression track, provided rewards are balanced.
- Social friction and cooperation: Teams, bounties and duels create reasons to meet other players instead of playing entirely alone.
- Convenience: Homes and teleport requests reduce travel friction without requiring a separate essentials stack.
The listing reports tested versions from 1.8 through 26.3 and modern Paper checks for 26.1–26.3. Those checks do not establish compatibility with every intermediate patch, future release or fork. On a new server, enable the economy and teleport features first, then add crates, rewards and PvP systems one at a time so you can identify which setting affects balance or performance.
Kumandra’s Economy: build a complete money loop
Kumandra’s Economy is strongest when the fun comes from answering two questions: where does money come from, and where does it go? It connects seven jobs, public shops, player trading, cross-world courier delivery and quests into one economic circuit. That makes it more than a balance display; players can choose a role, earn currency, move goods between worlds and spend the proceeds with other players.
Ways to use it
- Primary economy: Let its jobs and shops define the server’s main currency and prices.
- Secondary economy: Keep an existing economy for essentials while using Kumandra for a themed world, event or profession system.
- Standalone system: Use its own storage and commands when you do not want to adopt a broader economy stack.
The project advertises Spigot and Paper support from 1.16 through 26.2, optional Vault integration and YAML or MySQL storage. YAML is simpler for a small server; MySQL is more appropriate when you need centralized data or expect multiple services to access the economy. Decide the storage mode before players accumulate balances, because migration is more disruptive after launch.
Design the sinks before the jobs
Seven jobs can create inflation if players have no meaningful expenses. Set shop prices, courier fees, quest payouts and trading rules together. Give valuable items more than one destination, but avoid making every activity pay equally: distinct risk and effort are what make job choice interesting.

uxmEssentials: one modern suite instead of a patchwork
uxmEssentials lists 35 modules covering homes, economy, kits, Vaults, moderation, staff mode, holograms, NPCs, worlds, ranks and cross-server trade. Its appeal is consistency: commands, permissions and data handling come from one project instead of a collection of unrelated plugins that may disagree about currencies, player names or reload behavior.
When the integrated approach fits
- You are starting a new Paper network and want one configuration model.
- You need both player features and staff functions, including moderation, ranks and staff mode.
- You want cross-server trade and a shared database rather than isolated per-server data.
- You are willing to run Paper 26.2 or newer and Java 25.
The listing states Folia readiness, but treat that as a release-specific claim and test your exact build. “Ready” does not mean every third-party dependency or custom script is automatically safe under your scheduler. Install on a staging server, watch the console during movement, teleport and cross-server actions, and verify that permissions survive a restart.

Glaze: economy plus games and competition
Glaze combines a living economy with activities that feel like minigames. Its feature list includes dynamic shop pricing, auctions, trading, coinflip, slots, teams, bounties, duels, leaderboards, money history, Discord webhooks and backups. Dynamic prices can make a market feel responsive, while leaderboards and team competition provide public goals for regular players.
Important transaction protection
The project states that trades, coinflips and spins are decided and paid exactly once. That is a useful design promise for high-risk interactions, but you should still test disconnects, double-clicks, reloads and server crashes. Confirm that money history records both sides of a transaction and that a failed interaction does not consume an item or balance.

Glaze requires Paper 26.2 or newer and Java 25 according to its installation notes. Its cached leaderboards and webhooks can reduce repeated database work and improve community visibility, but external notifications should be treated as convenience features: the in-game transaction and its backup remain authoritative.

SMP-Core describes itself as an MIT-licensed plugin suite for survival servers on Paper. It contains 10 separate plugins and more than 100 commands, with components for economy, auctions, homes, duels, moderation, chat protection, staff tools and proxy operation. This is the better fit when you want to enable only the parts your server needs or inspect and adapt open-source code.
Operational requirements
- Paper 1.21.6 or newer.
- MySQL or MariaDB for persistent data.
- ProtocolLib as a dependency.
- Recommended capacity of at least four CPU cores, 8–12 GB of RAM and SSD storage.
Modularity gives you control but increases maintenance. Track each component’s version, permission nodes and database tables. Upgrade one component at a time on staging, and keep the complete suite and database backup together so a rollback does not leave economy code newer than its stored data.
Choosing by gameplay loop
| If your priority is… | Start with… | Reason | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Many features on a classic or mixed-version SMP | Donut SMP All In One | It covers markets, rewards, travel, teams and PvP in one package | Feature breadth means more balancing and configuration work |
| A profession-and-trading economy | Kumandra’s Economy | Jobs, quests, shops, couriers and trading form a connected loop | You must design currency sinks to avoid inflation |
| Unified essentials and network administration | uxmEssentials | 35 modules share one suite and database | Requires modern Paper and Java 25; less modular than separate plugins |
| Social games, leaderboards and competitive money play | Glaze | Dynamic prices, coinflip, slots, teams, bounties and duels | Requires Paper 26.2+ and Java 25, with more systems to monitor |
| Selective features and open-source control | SMP-Core | Ten components can be managed as a modular suite | Database, ProtocolLib and higher recommended server resources add administration work |
Safe installation procedure
- Record the baseline. Note your Paper or Spigot build, Java version, installed plugins, permissions, world seed and database engine. Save the server log from a clean startup.
- Read the target plugin’s release notes. Confirm the exact build supports your platform and version. For uxmEssentials and Glaze, verify Java 25; for SMP-Core, prepare MySQL or MariaDB and ProtocolLib.
- Clone the server. Copy worlds, plugin folders and databases to a staging instance. Never make the first configuration change on the only copy of a live world.
- Install dependencies first. Start with required libraries and database credentials, then launch once to let the plugin create its files. Stop the server before editing configuration.
- Configure permissions and currency. Give test accounts separate roles. Set starting balances, transaction limits, shop prices, reward probabilities and PvP rules before inviting players.
- Run a transaction test. Create, buy, sell, trade, auction and refund an item where supported. Disconnect a test account during a transaction and inspect balances, item counts and money history after restart.
- Test social and staff features. Exercise homes, teleport requests, teams, duels, bounties, moderation commands, webhooks and cross-server actions that your chosen plugin provides.
- Promote gradually. Keep the staging backup, announce a limited beta and monitor console errors, timings, database growth and player reports before enabling every reward or game.
Common problems and practical fixes
The server starts but commands are missing
Check that the jar is in the correct plugins directory, the plugin was not disabled because of a dependency error, and your account has the required permission. Review the first startup log rather than relying on a reload. Some commands also remain hidden until their module is enabled.
Best Value
Balances or auctions disappear
Stop the server, preserve the current data and restore the last known-good database or plugin backup. Do not repeatedly restart while a database connection is failing. For YAML storage, verify file ownership and write permissions; for MySQL or MariaDB, test credentials, host access and table integrity.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Two plugins duplicate economy or teleport commands
Choose one authoritative economy and one authoritative home or teleport system. Disable overlapping modules, remove duplicate command aliases and map permissions explicitly. Running two systems that both modify balances is more dangerous than a simple command conflict.
Performance falls after enabling markets or leaderboards
Check database latency, item-price refresh intervals, leaderboard caching and webhook queues. Reduce update frequency before raising hardware limits. SMP-Core’s own guidance recommends at least four cores, 8–12 GB of RAM and SSD storage, but actual need depends on player count, view distance and the rest of the server stack.
A sensible 2026 rollout plan
For a new SMP, begin with one economic foundation and one social layer. Donut SMP All In One is the shortest route to a broad feature set; Kumandra’s Economy is the clearest choice when jobs and trade are the central story. Add rewards only after prices and currency sinks are stable. Choose uxmEssentials when a unified modern Paper stack matters more than mixing specialist plugins. Choose Glaze when competition and game-like money interactions are core to the community. Choose SMP-Core when you value MIT-licensed, modular components and are prepared to operate a database-backed stack.
Whichever route you take, treat compatibility as a release-specific check, keep a restorable backup and test every currency-moving action on a copy of the server. That discipline matters more than the number of features on the plugin page.
