It is most relevant if your reporting centers on projects, clients, or billable work. Note that Clockify’s page is promotional. Treat its product descriptions as the vendor’s own claims, and test them against your workflow before relying on them.
Small hourly teams that need shifts: Homebase
Homebase’s alternatives article describes its product for hourly, shift-based businesses. Its free time-clock page describes employees clocking in and tracking their hours. This is the more natural match if your daily work is building a schedule, having staff clock in against it, and reviewing hours for pay. Stay with Buddy Punch only if its paid features are required

Check these limits before you migrate
A free plan can work for a pilot and fail in production. Confirm each item below against the live pricing page of the tool you are considering:
- User cap: Homebase’s free plan is stated as up to 10 team members. Count everyone who will clock in, including part-time staff.
- Locations: Homebase’s free plan is stated for one location. Multi-site operations need a paid plan.
- Historical data: Clockify’s free plan has been reported to limit the data range to one month. If you need a year of records for payroll audits or client invoices, a one-month range is not enough.
- Reports: Confirm which report types and export formats the free plan includes.
- Clock-in methods: Confirm which of web, mobile, desktop, or kiosk entry is available on the plan you choose.
- GPS and geofencing: Critical for crews working away from a fixed site. Confirm whether this is included or paid.
- Time off and payroll integrations: Confirm these on the specific plan you will use, not on a general features page.
Migrate without losing payroll records
