Choose by Bootstrap version and project scope
If your project already uses Bootstrap 5
The MDBootstrap cart repository is specifically described as a set of Bootstrap 5 cart examples, while Bootstrap eCommerce offers both a broader Bootstrap 5 page collection and a dedicated cart page that specifies Bootstrap 5.2.3 or later. Check your project’s installed version before adopting a page, particularly if it uses components or utilities introduced in a later release.

If you need more than a cart screen
The MDBootstrap Bootstrap 4 repository describes product pages and carts. Bootstrap eCommerce’s collection includes multiple ecommerce pages. OldSkool includes cart and checkout pages, and the bilalDevX template describes product, cart, checkout, and account pages. A larger page set may save layout work, but does not establish that the pages share working store logic.

If the project uses Bootstrap 4
The MDBootstrap ecommerce repository is described as Bootstrap 4 and Material Design. Its description also points to newer Bootstrap 5 templates, so treat it as a version-specific option rather than assuming the code can be dropped into a Bootstrap 5 project unchanged.
What a free cart template does—and does not—provide
A cart template supplies interface markup and styling. It can show products, quantities, totals, and controls, but a visual page alone does not demonstrate that those controls update a real cart or that the system saves cart contents between visits. Nor does a cart layout establish inventory management, payment processing, tax or shipping calculations, or order handling. Those behaviors require application logic or a connected commerce service, and should be verified separately.

OldSkool’s repository explicitly says it does not connect to a database or automatically work in a CMS; developers must incorporate it into an application. That is a useful reminder to distinguish a page template from an integrated storefront. Do not infer backend features from screenshots or the presence of a checkout page.

Check license, dependencies, and fit before adopting
- Confirm the exact license. The Bootstrap eCommerce collection and dedicated cart page describe MIT licensing and commercial use, and the MDBootstrap Bootstrap 4 repository describes an MIT license for personal and commercial use. Those descriptions do not establish the terms of other options or guarantee that a later download is unchanged. Read the license file included with the version you use.
- Verify the Bootstrap version in the files. Compare the project’s dependency declarations and component markup with the version already used on your site. The stated version range for the dedicated Bootstrap eCommerce cart page is Bootstrap 5.2.3 or later.
- Inspect what is included. Determine whether you are downloading one page or a coordinated set of product, cart, checkout, and account pages. Check whether images, icons, scripts, and stylesheets are part of the package or must be supplied separately.
- Assess integration work. Identify how the page will receive product data, update quantities, calculate totals, retain cart state, and hand off checkout. Confirm whether the template expects a particular framework, build process, or CMS rather than assuming it plugs into your current stack.
- Review implementation quality for your use case. Check repository activity, documentation, dependencies, accessibility, and browser behavior yourself. The available descriptions do not establish comparative results on those criteria.
A practical selection path
- Write down your current Bootstrap version. Compare it with the candidate’s stated version and inspect the downloaded source before integrating it.
- Choose the minimum page scope you need. For a cart-only starting point, consider the dedicated cart examples or page; for a wider storefront layout, inspect the collections that describe product, checkout, or account pages.
- Read the license packaged with the exact download. Confirm that its terms cover your intended personal or commercial use and any modifications or redistribution you plan.
- Map visual controls to real behavior. Make a short integration checklist for cart state, pricing, shipping and tax rules, inventory, and checkout. Treat each item as unimplemented until you confirm the application or service handles it.
- Test the integrated result. Try quantity changes, removal, empty-cart behavior, keyboard navigation, narrow screens, and the checkout handoff in your own application. The repository descriptions do not report independent testing for these cases.
