A free Android launcher can replace the home screen’s layout and app-access style without replacing Android itself. Niagara Launcher is one option if you want a minimal, list-based screen; if you prefer the familiar grid of app icons, Lawnchair is a different kind of fit. The title alone doesn’t identify which app the original author found, so Niagara is an example—not a confirmed identification.
What a launcher changes—and what it doesn’t
A launcher is the app that provides your Android home-screen experience: the screen you return to, how you find apps, and which shortcuts or widgets appear there. Niagara describes its launcher as minimalist, with a list-based approach to app access.

Changing launchers changes that interface; it does not mean you are replacing Android or deleting your installed apps, photos, or other personal files. You may need to choose the new launcher as the default Home app, and you can switch back through Android’s default-app settings. The precise menu labels can vary by phone maker and Android version.

What Niagara’s free version includes
Niagara’s official product page says the launcher comes in Free and Pro versions. Its free tier includes a clean home screen, a wave alphabet for finding apps, direct replies from the home screen, limited customization, an ad-free experience, and updates. The wave alphabet is intended to make app access quick without relying on a conventional grid of icons.

Choose the home-screen style that suits you

Neither style is a universal winner. A list can make a sparse screen feel intentional, while a grid may be easier to recognize if you are used to arranging icons in rows.

When Niagara Pro may be worth considering
Niagara’s paid tier adds full access to themes and customization of icons, fonts, and clocks, as well as integrated calendar and weather widgets, full pop-up folders, widget stacks of up to four widgets, and Usage Breaker. Those are the reasons to consider Pro if the free layout works for you but you want more control or built-in information on the home screen.
The publisher’s displayed price is localized, so it should not be treated as a universal amount. Check the current price in your own Google Play region before deciding.

Check the privacy disclosure before installing
Google Play’s developer-provided Data safety disclosure says Niagara may share location, app information and performance, and device or other IDs with third parties; it also reports that data is encrypted in transit. Google Play notes that these practices may vary with use, region, and age and can be updated. This is the developer’s disclosure on the listing, not an independent privacy audit.
