What time did Fortnitemares go live?
Epic did not publish an exact start time. Nintendo Life estimated an October 1 morning rollout in several regions, based on typical Fortnite maintenance downtime. Its estimates were 4–6 a.m. EDT, 1–3 a.m. PDT, 9–11 a.m. BST, and 10 a.m.–noon CEST. What is coming to Fortnitemares 2026?
Battle Royale: new locations, weapons, and abilities
Players can drop into Freaky Fields or the new Nightmare Neighborhood POI. Freddy Krueger appears there; defeating him grants Freddy’s Nightmare, which lets players teleport into range and slash opponents. The Bonerattler SMG is new, while the Wood Stake Shotgun and Pumpkin Launcher return.

Horde Rush returns. On October 8, Reload is set to receive an updated Nitemare Island alongside the Stranger Things and Squid Grounds maps, according to Epic’s announcement.

October collaborations and Shop arrivals
Epic says new characters will arrive during October from Five Nights at Freddy’s, Hazbin Hotel, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Beetlejuice, Obsession, and more. Five Nights at Freddy’s outfits are already in the Shop, while other listed outfits and accessories are planned across the month. The announcement does not assign individual release dates to those later drops.
