Fortnite Reload has its own Ranked ladder, separate from Battle Royale and Zero Build. Placement and eliminations both affect Reload rank progress, but Epic does not publish a fixed points-per-kill or placement formula. Tournament entry ranks are different: each cup sets its own requirements, so check the rules for the specific event and region.
How Fortnite Reload Ranked works
Reload Ranked is a separate progression track. Your Reload rank does not raise or lower your Battle Royale or Zero Build rank, and progress in those modes does not transfer to Reload. Epic’s Ranked mode support page describes the modes as having separate ranks.

In a Ranked Reload lobby, matchmaking uses the highest-ranked player on your team. Each teammate still has an individual rank, and their personal progress depends on the team’s performance and that player’s rank. A mixed-rank squad can therefore match at its highest-ranked member’s level without everyone having the same personal rank.
Rank tiers and divisions
The ladder has eight tiers, from Bronze at the bottom to Unreal at the top. Bronze through Diamond each have three divisions; Elite, Champion, and Unreal have one tier apiece.

Epic says players who reach Elite cannot be demoted below Elite for the rest of that season. Ranks partially reset when a new season begins, while Reload’s announcement describes resets at the start of a new Ranked period with the starting rank based on the previous period’s finish. Reset timing and details depend on the season or Ranked period; do not assume a fixed calendar date. See Epic’s Reload Ranked announcement and current Ranked support page.
How Reload rank progress is calculated
Epic says that placement and eliminations both play a major role in Ranked progression. Reload has two additional details: eliminating every player on an enemy team adds progression, while repeatedly eliminating the same opposing player or players with your team becomes significantly less valuable after the second elimination. These are the factors Epic has publicly described; it has not published an exact numeric formula.
Rank #2
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts

- Placement: how your team finishes matters.
- Eliminations: eliminations contribute to progress, and wiping an enemy team adds progress.
- Repeat eliminations: the same team repeatedly eliminating the same opponent or opponents earns significantly less progression after the second elimination.
There is no official public chart establishing a guaranteed percentage or number of rank points for a particular finish or kill count. The displayed result can vary, so treat any universal “points per kill” claim as unsupported unless it comes from current official information.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Ranked progress is not tournament scoring
Your Ranked progress bar and a tournament leaderboard use different scoring systems. A competition’s rules define how tournament points are awarded, and the rules can include event-specific limits. For example, the Reload Elite Series Official Rules, dated December 10, 2025, state that only a team’s first ten eliminations count toward its score in the specified sessions. That tournament scoring rule is not a formula for gaining Reload rank.
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Before entering a cup, read its official rules and scoring attachment rather than applying Ranked-mode behavior or another event’s point system.
Unlock Ranked in Fortnite
Epic Support currently says players can unlock Ranked by completing the “Outlast 500 players” Kickstart quest, then turning Ranked on from the mode selection screen. Epic’s Reload announcement frames this quest requirement for accounts that have never logged into Fortnite. For the current steps, use Epic’s Ranked mode support instructions; quest availability or wording can change.
Rank #4
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms

What rank do you need for a Reload tournament?
There is no single rank requirement for every Reload tournament. Eligibility depends on the named event, season, region, team format, and session rules. Two dated examples show why you need to check each event’s rules:
| Event and rules date | Published Reload rank requirement |
|---|---|
| Reload Elite Series Official Rules, December 10, 2025 | Each eligible teammate must have reached Elite or higher in Reload Ranked for their region before the relevant session. |
| Victory Cups — Chapter 7 Season 3 Official Rules, June 3, 2026; Solo Reload Victory Cup | Gold or higher for the first event, Diamond or higher for the second, and Champion for the third. |
These thresholds apply to those named competitions and rules dates; they are not permanent requirements for all Reload cups. Check the current in-game event listing and the event’s official rules for the applicable rank, region, and timing conditions. The relevant rule pages are Reload Elite Series — Official Rules and Fortnite Victory Cups — Chapter 7 Season 3 — Official Rules.
