No. Epic Games says two Epic accounts cannot be merged, and it cannot move V-Bucks, purchases, items or cosmetics, or friends lists between them. If your Fortnite progress seems to have vanished after linking a console, you may be able to restore access by linking that console to the Epic account where the progress is stored. That changes which account the console accesses; it does not combine account histories.
What “merging” means—and why it is not available
Epic’s support guidance is direct: “There is no way to merge two Epic Games accounts.” Epic also says its support team cannot assist with account-merging requests. The listed balances and content cannot be transferred between accounts: V-Bucks, Epic Games Store purchases, in-game items or cosmetics, and friends lists. Epic’s account-merge guidance

Fortnite progress belongs to the Epic account on which it was earned. Linking a PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, or other supported platform account to an Epic account can let you access that Epic account’s progress on the platform. It does not move progress from a second Epic account or combine the two accounts’ histories. If you want to keep both sets of progress, keep the Epic accounts separate.

| You can access the Epic account that has the progress, but your console is linked to another account | Check the accounts, then change the console link to the Epic account holding the desired progress. This restores access; it does not transfer progress. |
| Your console is unlinked or linked to an empty account | Use Epic’s account recovery and relinking steps to connect the console to the account holding your data. |
| You cannot identify or access the Epic account that holds the progress | Try Epic’s recovery guidance and contact Epic Support if the progress remains missing. Recovery is not guaranteed if you cannot identify or access the account. |
| Epic says a different account of the same platform type was previously linked | Follow Epic’s instructions to remove the linking restriction before linking another account of that platform type. |
Before changing a console link
- Find the account with the progress first. Sign in to each Epic account you may have used and check which one contains the Fortnite progress you want. Epic recommends checking before making changes. Epic’s progress-sync guidance
- Know what unlinking does. Fortnite progress and purchases are stored on the Epic account. After unlinking, the console loses access to that account’s progress and purchases, although the data remains on the Epic account. Launching Fortnite on the unlinked console can create a new, empty Epic account. Epic’s unlinking guidance
- Check the restriction and subscription rules. Epic says removing a same-platform linking restriction is available only once every 365 days and cannot be bypassed. If the platform account you plan to remove has an active Fortnite Crew subscription, Epic advises canceling it first; no new Crew rewards will be received after unlinking. Epic’s linking-restriction guidance
How to link the console to the Epic account with your progress
- Identify the destination account. Sign in to the Epic account that contains the progress you want. Do not proceed based on a display name alone if you are unsure which account is signed in.
- Check the console’s current link. Sign in to the Epic account currently linked to that console, then open Account settings → Linked accounts and confirm which platform account is connected.
- Unlink only if it is the wrong account. If the console is linked to the wrong Epic account, unlink it from that account. If Epic prompts you to remove a linking restriction, follow its current account-change instructions before continuing. Epic’s instructions for changing a linked account
- Link the intended console account. Sign in to the Epic account that holds the desired progress and connect the correct console account. Double-check the platform account before confirming.
The exact platform sign-in screens may differ. Use Epic’s current progress-sync instructions and linked-account change instructions if the account settings prompt you to complete additional steps.

If your progress appears missing or you were reset to Level 1
- Confirm that you are signed in to the Epic account where the progress was earned. Linking the console to a different Epic account shows that other account’s progress instead.
- If the console was unlinked or attached to an empty account, follow Epic’s recovery route: register the relevant account, verify its email, unlink the console from the empty account, and link it to the Epic account that holds the data.
- If the progress still does not appear, submit a support ticket to Epic. Its guidance does not promise recovery when you cannot identify or access the Epic account containing the data. Epic’s missing-progress guidance
What linking across platforms does—and does not—sync
Epic says Fortnite purchases and progress can be accessed across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Switch, and mobile when those platform accounts are linked to the same Epic Games account. V-Bucks are an exception to that general statement, and the cross-platform guidance points to separate V-Bucks rules; the platform-specific details are not established here.
