The studio calls that nonprofit the “voice of the gamers.” It is an experimental proposal, not evidence that every planned legal entity is already operating.
What Summer Eternal is proposing
In an official studio-architecture post dated October 11, 2024, Summer Eternal described a shareholding company in Zagreb, Croatia, built around four stakeholder groups. The structure is intended to give creative workers, support staff, investors and players a defined place in governance rather than leaving control solely with founders or outside financiers.

| Stakeholder entity | Proposed share | Role and rights described by the studio |
|---|---|---|
| Creative cooperative | 50% | Full-time creative staff control the means of creation. Members who leave are opted out, while new collaborators can be co-opted into the cooperative. |
| Worker cooperative | 25% | Support and other workers participate through a cooperative. Capital returns are tracked in individual capital accounts rather than individually held shares. |
| Investor limited-liability company | 20% | Investor capital funds development contractually, with a revenue share after release, similar to a publisher-financing arrangement. |
| Player nonprofit | 5% | People who own the studio’s games can join. The nonprofit can summon a General Assembly and direct its own activities through an all-member assembly. |
The percentages describe the proposed ownership split. They do not mean that players would own 5% of every decision about a game or that buying a copy would automatically grant an immediately exercisable vote.
How the “voice of the gamers” would work
The player component is the proposal’s defining feature. Summer Eternal says membership in the 5% nonprofit would be available to people who own its games. That nonprofit would be represented in the studio’s Assembly and could call a General Assembly, creating a formal route for the player community to organize and place issues before the broader governance system.
#1 Best Overall
- Disco Elysium - The Final Cut is the definitive edition of the groundbreaking role playing game
- Interrogate unforgettable characters, crack murders, or take bribes
- Become a hero or an absolute disaster of a human being - it's all up to you
- Countless tools for roleplaying, a revolutionary dialog system, and an unprecedented freedom of choice found in the base game
- Adds new quests, and for the first time is fully voice acted
Its activities would not be limited to game design votes. According to the proposal, the nonprofit could use game revenue for events, union work or other purposes selected by its all-member assembly. The phrase “voice of the gamers” therefore refers to an organized community stakeholder with its own body and meeting rights, not to a promise that purchasers can vote on every feature.
Who would make decisions?
The four entities would be represented in an Assembly. Day-to-day management would be handled by a board elected by that Assembly.
- Ordinary board decisions: simple majority, meaning more than 50%.
- Structural changes: a 66% or 75% supermajority, depending on the type of constitutional or structural change.
The post does not provide a complete decision-by-decision rulebook. In practice, the supermajority thresholds are designed to make the ownership framework harder to rewrite than an ordinary operating decision, while the Assembly provides the channel through which each stakeholder group is represented.

How the worker and investor pieces fit together
Creative cooperative
The 50% creative cooperative is intended to keep control with the people making the games. The studio says membership follows active participation: departing members are opted out and new collaborators can be brought in. That approach differs from a conventional company in which founders or employees may retain shares indefinitely after leaving.
Worker cooperative
The separate 25% worker cooperative would include support and other workers who may not be part of the creative group. Instead of giving each person individually owned shares, the proposal describes individual capital accounts that track returns within the cooperative.
Investor LLC
The 20% investor entity would provide development capital under contracts that grant investors a share of revenue after release. Summer Eternal compares the arrangement with publisher financing, but the proposal places investors alongside—not above—the worker and community entities in the overall Assembly.
What legal form is planned?
Summer Eternal says it enlisted Slovenia’s Institute for Economic Democracy to help implement the cooperatives. Because workers may be located in multiple countries, the studio says it would probably use a European Cooperative Society structure. It also says the Fairshares model would be used to include workers, investors, collaborators and the wider community as stakeholders.

Those are implementation intentions, not confirmation that the entities have all been incorporated. No independent legal filing confirming completion of the proposed cooperative and nonprofit structure is established here, so readers should treat the October 2024 post as a design proposal.
What is Red Rooster?
Contemporary reporting in 2026 connects Summer Eternal with Red Rooster, an RPG associated with former ZA/UM and Disco Elysium developers. The reported concept is a 3D, real-time, third-person role-playing game set in the magic-realist river city of Arta-Trantor. Its described mechanics involve fire, water and alternate selves.
Rank #4
The available reporting says Red Rooster remained in active development and had no announced release date. Those details come from secondary coverage; they should not be read as a launch schedule or as confirmation that the proposed ownership structure has been completed.

The proposal says people who own Summer Eternal games would be eligible to join the player nonprofit. It does not establish a current registration process, define how ownership would be verified, or say that membership begins automatically at purchase. Until the nonprofit and its rules are formally implemented, buying a game should be understood as a possible eligibility condition described in the proposal, not a guaranteed legal membership.
What else is Summer Eternal producing?
An official September 1, 2026 production update on the Summer Eternal site said the team had received the first physical copies of its books, supporting the existence of Summer Eternal Anthology Volume One as a physical publishing project. Amazon listing status, pricing and regional availability were not established, so no purchase claim can be made from that update alone.

Why this model matters—and what remains unresolved
Most game studios give players influence indirectly through sales, feedback and community management. Summer Eternal’s proposal would give game owners a named nonprofit, a seat in the stakeholder Assembly and the ability to convene a General Assembly. It also attempts to separate creative control, worker participation and investor financing instead of treating them as one undifferentiated ownership bloc.
The unresolved questions are practical: which decisions the Assembly can bind the operating board to, how the 66% and 75% thresholds are assigned, how game ownership is authenticated, how nonprofit revenue is governed, and whether the proposed cross-border cooperative entities have been legally formed. Until those details are published and implemented, “voice of the gamers” is best understood as an ambitious governance experiment rather than a functioning player-voting platform.
