Fluxguard API Documentation: Add Pages, Start Crawls, and Handle Webhooks

A practical guide to Fluxguard’s beta API: authenticate requests, add pages, start crawls, retrieve data, manage webhooks, and avoid common integration mistakes.

Fluxguard’s documented API lets you look up organization details, add monitored pages, start crawls, retrieve page data, manage categories and webhooks, and delete sites or pages. It is labeled beta: Fluxguard says “our API is still in beta.” Create an API key in organization settings and send it in the x-api-key header. For change notifications, configure a webhook instead of repeatedly polling the API. The endpoint details below reflect Fluxguard’s published guide; check the live API documentation before implementing because beta interfaces can change.

How Fluxguard organizes monitored pages

Fluxguard’s monitoring model uses sites, sessions, and pages. A site groups monitored content; a session can represent a user flow; and pages are the individual monitored URLs. Product tutorials also describe captures of text, rendered HTML, screenshots, network activity, and other page state, along with crawl-frequency settings, filters, and browser actions. Those are product-context details, not a promise that every console setting or action has a corresponding API endpoint.

The API guide documents a specific set of operations rather than claiming to expose every console capability. Treat it as the reference for the operations listed here, and confirm current parameters and behavior in Fluxguard’s API guide.

Authenticate API requests

Create an API key from your organization settings, then pass it as the x-api-key request header. The documented responses use JSON. Fluxguard says removed keys no longer function, so a request that begins failing after key rotation should be checked against the current key configured for that organization.

curl -H 'x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY' https://api.fluxguard.com/account

This example calls GET /account to retrieve organization account attributes; it takes no parameters. Avoid embedding a real API key in source code committed to version control. Store it in an environment-specific secret store and ensure it is not written to request logs.

Add a page to monitoring

Use POST /add-page with a URL. The documented response includes siteId, sessionId, and pageId; retain these identifiers because the crawl and page-data endpoints use them.

Minimal request

curl -X POST https://api.fluxguard.com/add-page
  -H 'x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY'
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json'
  -d '{"url":"https://example.com/"}'

Optional organization and categorization fields

The guide documents optional siteId and sessionId fields, category selection through categories, categoryId, or categoryName, and a siteNickname. Use the category form accepted by the live guide and avoid assuming that identifiers from one organization apply to another.

curl -X POST https://api.fluxguard.com/add-page
  -H 'x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY'
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json'
  -d '{"url":"https://example.com/pricing","siteNickname":"Example pricing"}'

Save the returned identifiers from the actual response rather than hard-coding sample values. If you are adding pages to an existing site or session, supply the appropriate identifiers as documented by Fluxguard.

Start a crawl and retrieve page data

After adding a page, use its returned IDs in the crawl path. The documented crawl operation has no parameters and initiates a crawl for that site and session.

curl -X POST
  -H 'x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY'
  https://api.fluxguard.com/site/SITE_ID/session/SESSION_ID/crawl

To retrieve data for a monitored page, call the page endpoint with all three identifiers:

curl
  -H 'x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY'
  https://api.fluxguard.com/site/SITE_ID/session/SESSION_ID/page/PAGE_ID

The guide lists this as a no-parameter GET operation. The returned page data is JSON; consult the live guide for the current response shape and fields before binding application logic to them.

API operations documented by Fluxguard

Method and path Purpose and documented inputs
GET /account Organization account attributes; no parameters.
POST /add-page Add a page. Required: url. Optional: siteId, sessionId, category selection using categories, categoryId, or categoryName, and siteNickname. Response includes site, session, and page IDs.
POST /site/{siteId}/session/{sessionId}/crawl Initiate a crawl; no parameters.
GET /site/{siteId}/session/{sessionId}/page/{pageId} Retrieve monitored-page data; no parameters.
GET /account/webhook/sample Return a sample webhook payload.
PUT /account/webhook Create a webhook using a destination url; response includes an ID.
GET /account/webhook List organization webhooks.
DELETE /account/webhook Delete a webhook using its id.
GET /account/category List category data.
POST /account/category Create a site category using name.
DELETE /site/{siteId} Delete a site and its sessions, pages, and captures.
DELETE /site/{siteId}/session/{sessionId}/page/{pageId} Delete a page and its captures.

Deletion is destructive: the site endpoint removes its associated sessions, pages, and captures, while the page endpoint removes that page and its captures. Confirm the target IDs and your retention needs before calling either operation.

Choose API polling or webhook delivery

Use API calls when your integration needs to initiate a crawl, retrieve page data on demand, or manage monitoring resources. Use a webhook when your system should react to changes Fluxguard detects without repeatedly checking for them. Fluxguard describes a webhook as a “reverse API”: when a new change is detected, it sends a POST to the destination you configured.

Configure and secure a webhook

The documented webhook lifecycle is to inspect the sample payload, create a webhook with a destination URL, list existing webhooks, and delete one by ID when it is no longer needed. The sample endpoint is useful for examining the documented payload structure before writing a receiver.

curl -X PUT https://api.fluxguard.com/account/webhook
  -H 'x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY'
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json'
  -d '{"url":"https://your.example.com/fluxguard-events"}'

The guide documents optional per-webhook authentication using a secret and an HMAC-SHA256 signature. When enabled, the signature and timestamp are represented in the fluxguard-signature header. Verify the signature and timestamp using the exact procedure in Fluxguard’s webhook integration guide; do not treat possession of a destination URL or receipt of a POST as proof that a request came from Fluxguard.

Make the receiver tolerant of retries or duplicate deliveries: process events in a way that does not repeat irreversible downstream actions, and record enough event context to investigate failures. The reviewed guide establishes the payload’s use of metadata and artifact references, but implementation details such as delivery retry policy and retention duration should be checked in the current live documentation rather than assumed.

Common integration failures and practical fixes

  • Authentication is rejected: confirm the key belongs to the intended organization, is passed as x-api-key, and has not been removed in organization settings. Replace revoked keys with a current key.
  • A request succeeds but your code cannot find the page: capture the siteId, sessionId, and pageId returned by POST /add-page and use the matching values in later paths.
  • Webhook artifacts are missing later: artifact URLs refer to files stored separately and may be temporary. Fetch files when the event arrives and preserve them in storage you control if they are needed long term.
  • A webhook receiver accepts an untrusted request: enable the documented optional secret and validate its HMAC-SHA256 signature and timestamp according to Fluxguard’s guide.
  • A destructive request removes more than intended: distinguish deleting an entire site, including its sessions and captures, from deleting one page and its captures; verify IDs before sending the request.
  • Documented fields or paths do not behave as expected: the API is beta. Check Fluxguard’s current API and webhook guides for changed endpoint details and request formats.

Performance, reliability, and cost considerations

The documented API supports explicit crawl initiation, while webhooks avoid constant polling when the requirement is to react to detected changes. That does not establish a particular crawl duration, webhook delivery guarantee, API rate limit, uptime level, or price; Fluxguard’s cited guides do not provide those figures. Design integrations with timeouts, error handling, and durable event/artifact storage appropriate to your own requirements, then verify any operational limits with Fluxguard’s live documentation or support.

If your task is to capture a page as an image or PDF rather than monitor changes over time, ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API and MCP server for developers. A single GET request can return PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF; its clean-shot flow accepts consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture, with each step optional. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. AI agents can use its MCP tools, including take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf.
