LineageOS documents a browser-based flashing utility with an Odin (Samsung download mode) tab. It lets you connect to a Samsung device in download mode, select firmware files in the browser, and start flashing. That does not establish that every Samsung model is supported, nor does it confirm an association with LineageOS 24.0.
What the browser-based Odin tab does
Lineage Flash Tools is a web-based utility for flashing LineageOS recovery, boot, and OTA packages without installing ADB and Fastboot locally for the browser workflow. Its four tabs cover different device modes:

- ADB: recovery mode
- Fastboot: Fastboot or Fastbootd
- Odin: Samsung download mode
- Amlogic: USB burn mode
The Odin tab is described as a browser workflow for Samsung download mode; the documentation does not say that Samsung’s desktop Odin application is running inside the browser. The official page also does not independently confirm that this feature is specific to LineageOS 24.0. Read the LineageOS Flash Tools guide.

How to use the Samsung download-mode workflow
- Check the installation guide for your exact device model first. The tool page says installation steps vary by device.
- Reboot the Samsung device into download mode.
- Open the LineageOS Flash Tools page in a browser that supports WebUSB, then click Connect and select the device.
- Choose the firmware file or files specified by the correct device instructions, then start the flash.
Follow the files and order specified by your device’s official installation guide; the short Odin-tab instructions do not replace those model-specific directions.

Which Samsung models can use it?
The existence of an Odin tab does not mean all Samsung phones are compatible with LineageOS. LineageOS says devices not listed in its device catalog are unsupported, and a build for one model cannot be used on a different or merely similar model. Check the exact model and its installation instructions in the LineageOS device list before flashing. The Odin tool page does not provide a separate list of supported Samsung models.
Browser, drivers, and USB access
The tool requires a browser with WebUSB support; the guide gives Chrome and Edge as examples. Device detection can also depend on the operating system and mode:

- Windows: drivers may be needed for WebUSB detection in ADB or Fastboot mode. For the Odin workflow, the guide says Windows users can instead use serial mode, which skips installing Samsung USB drivers.
- Linux: udev rules may be needed for browser USB access. The guide says they are not required on distributions using systemd v261 or newer.
Additional infrastructure guidance lists Chromium (except Ubuntu’s broken Snap package), Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave with Shields disabled. It cautions against Flatpak and Snap browser packages and private browsing because of WebUSB or available-storage limitations. Browser packaging and compatibility can change, so check the current WebUSB guidance if the browser cannot access the phone.
If the browser cannot see the phone or flashing fails
Check the mode and connection
For the Odin tab, the phone must be in Samsung download mode. Confirm the selected device in the browser’s Connect dialog and use a data-capable USB cable. Charging-only cables cannot carry the required data connection.

Address transfer errors
LineageOS notes that high-throughput USB transfers can fail with some ports, cables, or hubs. Try a different USB port or cable, and connect directly rather than through a hub, extension cable, or adapter where possible.
Resolve interference in the ADB tab
If you are using the ADB tab and already have ADB installed, an existing ADB server can interfere. The guide instructs you to run adb kill-server before using the web flash tools. This advice is specific to the ADB tab, not a general fix for Odin-mode detection.

What to verify before flashing
- The exact device model appears in the LineageOS device list.
- You are following that model’s current installation guide and using its specified files.
- Your browser supports WebUSB and your operating system permits browser access to the USB device.
- You understand the connection mode required by the instructions; the Odin tab is for Samsung download mode.
