A device that lights up may be receiving power without carrying data. Follow the steps below in order; avoid resetting the device as a first troubleshooting measure.
1. Check the USB cable and connection
Disconnect and reconnect both ends of the cable, and connect the Trezor directly to the computer. Try another USB port and a known-good cable that fits your model and supports data transfer. Trezor says changing the cable resolves connectivity issues “most of the time”; a lit screen alone does not confirm that the cable can transfer data. 2. Confirm Windows and Suite are supported
Trezor’s Windows installation guide specifies Windows 10 64-bit or newer, and says the same installer works on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Download the desktop app through Trezor’s official Windows installation guide, not a third-party mirror. Trezor’s broader operating-system requirements also list Windows 10 or newer.

If the cable checks do not help and Windows still does not recognize the device, Trezor documents a driver procedure using Zadig. Because replacing a driver can affect system-device behavior, do not select a device based on guesswork: follow the current vendor instructions precisely.

- Open Trezor’s device-detection troubleshooting guide and follow its steps to connect the Trezor in bootloader mode and open Zadig.
- In Zadig, enable the option to show all devices, then select the relevant unknown device as specified by Trezor.
- Select
libusb0 (v1.2.6.0)and use the install-or-replace-driver action described in Trezor’s instructions. - Restart the computer, reconnect the device, and check whether Suite detects it.
4. Check for software interference
If the connection and driver checks have not resolved the issue, temporarily test whether a VPN, a firewall or antivirus setting, or a browser extension such as an ad blocker is interfering. Trezor recommends trying these checks and whitelisting Suite. Change only what is needed for diagnosis, then restore your usual protections and settings. The vendor’s troubleshooting guide describes these checks.
If you use Suite in a browser
This browser guidance applies to Suite web, not the Windows desktop app. Trezor supports Chromium-based browsers and recommends Chrome; Firefox and Safari are unsupported because of WebUSB limitations. See the Suite operating-system and connectivity requirements.

5. Check the legacy Model One firmware case
Trezor documents a specific compatibility path for a Model One running firmware 1.7.0 or older: use Suite 25.1.2 to connect and update the device firmware, then update Suite to the latest release. These version-specific steps do not apply as a general fix to other models or firmware versions. Check Trezor’s current instructions before using an older Suite version; do not obtain an installer from an unofficial source.
6. Test another computer, then contact support
Try the device on another computer, ideally one running a different operating system supported by Trezor. If it is still not detected after the documented checks, contact Trezor support through its official site. Do not share your wallet backup, PIN, or passphrase as part of troubleshooting.

Do not factory-reset to solve detection first
A factory reset is destructive: Trezor says it erases the device, including firmware and private keys. Do not reset simply because Suite cannot detect the device. Only follow an applicable official reset procedure if you understand the consequences and have a safe wallet backup available. Trezor explains this in its hardware troubleshooting guidance.
