If a Thumbalizr screenshot shows fallback text or missing icons, first check whether those assets load on the page in a normal browser. If they do, try a longer post-load delay within your account’s available range and make a fresh capture. A delay can help reveal a timing problem; it cannot repair a broken or inaccessible font or icon asset.
First determine whether the page or the capture is at fault
- Open the same page in a normal browser and compare its fonts and icons with the screenshot. Use the same viewport dimensions and, where relevant, the same page state.
- If the browser also shows fallback typography or missing icons, investigate the page’s stylesheets and asset delivery first. Changing screenshot timing will not fix an asset that the page cannot load.
- If the ordinary browser eventually displays the correct assets but the screenshot does not, test whether the capture is happening before they finish loading.
Check whether the font and icon requests succeed
Use the browser’s developer tools to inspect the network requests for the font files, icon fonts, or SVGs. Check that each request resolves successfully and that the resource is available from a public page context—not only from a local file, authenticated session, or inaccessible origin. This is general browser troubleshooting, not a Thumbalizr-specific diagnosis.

For custom fonts, browsers may defer fetching a font until it is needed. MDN explains that the browser controls when a font is downloaded, and its CSS Font Loading API describes document.fonts.ready, a promise that resolves after used fonts have loaded and layout operations have completed.

Test Thumbalizr’s capture delay
Thumbalizr documents delay as the number of seconds to wait after page load before capture. Its API documentation lists a range of 1–30 seconds and says the free option is five seconds; check the current documentation and your account for the values you can use. A longer delay is a diagnostic test, not a guarantee that a missing asset will appear. See the Thumbalizr API documentation.

timestampas a way to generate a new image, which can help avoid comparing against an earlier result. - Compare the result with the original using the same page and viewport. Note whether the font or icon appears after the additional wait.
If the page is under your control and you can run code before capture, wait for document.fonts.ready before triggering the screenshot. This is a browser-side option; Thumbalizr’s cited API documentation does not list custom JavaScript execution, so do not assume you can install this wait inside its service.
Check Thumbalizr’s response and keep a useful record
Thumbalizr documents the status values QUEUED, OK, and FAILED, and provides X-Thumbalizr-Status and X-Thumbalizr-Error response headers. Check these alongside the image: a capture error is different from a successful capture of a page whose assets did not load. The API documentation also describes bwidth and bheight as browser dimensions.

Thumbalizr has announced a progressive transition from Browshot-powered infrastructure to ScreenshotCenter and says existing integrations, API calls, embed codes, and settings remain unchanged. The announcement does not establish whether a particular account has migrated. If the problem began around the transition, record when it started and compare repeated captures; the announcement does not provide an account-level migration lookup. Does a longer Thumbalizr delay fix a broken font URL?
No. It only tests whether the page needed more time to load; the font request and page configuration must be fixed if the asset cannot load.
Can I make Thumbalizr wait for document.fonts.ready?
The cited Thumbalizr API documentation does not list custom JavaScript execution, so it does not establish that this browser hook can be used within Thumbalizr.
