If OBS keeps reconnecting to YouTube after a Windows network adapter reset, first confirm Windows internet access, then check OBS’s network binding and test one connection change at a time. The reset may have exposed or left behind a connectivity problem, but the available guidance does not establish one specific cause for this exact symptom.
Start with the connection, not the stream key
OBS Project’s Stream Connection Troubleshooting guide says intermittent disconnections indicate a network issue between the computer and the remote stream ingest server. That is a general diagnosis, not proof that your adapter, router, ISP, or YouTube is at fault.

- Check ordinary Windows internet access. Open a browser and load a few sites. If they do not load reliably, troubleshoot Windows connectivity before changing OBS settings.
- Separate a general connection problem from an OBS-only symptom. Note whether other internet activity works and whether OBS disconnects only while streaming. If available, compare with another streaming service or server; a difference can help narrow the investigation but does not prove the cause.
- Change one variable at a time. Record whether the stream reconnects before and after each change. This makes it easier to identify a useful difference instead of layering uncertain fixes.
Check OBS network settings
In OBS Studio, open Settings → Advanced → Network. Labels may vary by version, but these are the settings OBS documents for connection troubleshooting.

An adapter reset can change which network interfaces Windows has available; Default avoids forcing OBS to bind to a specific address unless you have a reason to do so.
- Network Optimizations and TCP pacing: OBS lists enabling these options as Windows troubleshooting steps. Test them and observe whether reconnects change.
- IP family: If other troubleshooting has not helped, try IPv4 Only. If it makes no difference, OBS recommends returning to the default IPv4 and IPv6 setting.
- Dynamic Bitrate: This option can lower bitrate when the connection cannot keep up. It may reduce dropped frames during congestion, but it does not repair the underlying connection and can lower picture quality.
Do not treat a lower bitrate or a changed IP-family setting as proof that the network issue is fixed. Keep the setting only if it produces a practical improvement without unacceptable quality loss.

Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet if you can
If the computer is on Wi-Fi, test a wired connection to the router if practical. OBS recommends wired networking because Wi-Fi may be unstable for streaming. This is a diagnostic comparison, not a guarantee that Ethernet will solve the problem. A cable is useful only if the wired test changes the result; there is no reason to replace network hardware as an initial step.
If the stream still reconnects, consider whether VPN or security software, bundled network utilities, an outdated network driver, router or modem trouble, or faulty hardware could be involved. OBS recommends current network drivers from the computer or motherboard manufacturer. If connection checks do not resolve the issue, contact your ISP.

Repair Windows connectivity when internet access is also affected
Microsoft’s Windows 10 and Windows 11 connectivity guidance includes resetting network components from an administrator Command Prompt. These are general Windows troubleshooting steps, not a verified OBS-specific fix. Save work first; network settings or connectivity may be interrupted while they run.

- Right-click Start, open Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin), and approve the prompt.
- Run each command in order, pressing Enter after each:
netsh winsock resetnetsh int ip resetipconfig /releaseipconfig /renewipconfig /flushdns - Restart Windows, then check ordinary internet access and test OBS again.
If the commands do not help, Microsoft documents uninstalling the network adapter driver and restarting Windows so it can attempt to reinstall it. Before uninstalling, have a driver backup or a way to obtain the correct driver in case Windows does not reinstall it automatically. Prefer the current driver supplied by your computer or motherboard manufacturer.

Use Network reset only as a late step
Microsoft describes Network reset as a last resort for Windows 10 and Windows 11 connectivity problems. It removes installed network adapters and their settings, then reinstalls the adapters with default settings after a restart. Before using it, note any custom network configuration and make sure you can restore it. A VPN client or Hyper-V virtual switch may need to be reinstalled or configured again afterward. Follow the Network reset instructions for your Windows version in Microsoft’s Ethernet connection troubleshooting or Wi-Fi connection troubleshooting guidance.
Troubleshoot by what changes the symptom
- Windows internet access is unreliable too: Focus on Windows connectivity, the adapter driver, router or modem, and ISP before treating OBS as the cause.
- Internet access works, but OBS reconnects: Check Bind to IP, test the documented OBS network options, and compare Wi-Fi with wired networking if possible.
- OBS changes behavior on another service or server: That difference may help narrow the issue to a route or ingest-service difference, but it does not conclusively identify the cause.
- Nothing changes after a setting adjustment: Restore the default setting where OBS advises doing so, then move to the next diagnostic step rather than making several unrelated changes together.
