The Fisher & Paykel RF442BRGW6 is a discontinued, bottom-freezer refrigerator with 442 L of total capacity listed by CHOICE. It was tested in 2017, but the public review does not reveal the scores needed to judge cooling performance, noise, reliability or running cost. That makes it possible to assess its listed capacity and fit, but not to confirm how well it performed in testing.
What the RF442BRGW6 specifications say
CHOICE categorizes the RF442BRGW6 as a medium-size bottom-freezer refrigerator. Its public listing gives 442 L total volume, with claimed compartment volumes of 307 L for the refrigerator and 135 L for the freezer. These are listed figures, not a measure of how much usable space a particular household will find in practice.

CHOICE lists claimed energy use of 428 kWh per year and a three-star energy rating. It also lists a two-year warranty and Thailand as the country of origin. These are details shown on the CHOICE page, not a current warranty offer for every market or an independent measurement of energy use. See the CHOICE RF442BRGW6 review for the exact-model listing.

Can it fit your kitchen?
CHOICE gives recommended installation dimensions of 72 cm wide, 177 cm high and 73 cm deep. It separately lists the appliance itself as 68 cm wide, 172 cm high and 70 cm deep. The installation envelope is larger than the product dimensions; do not use the appliance measurements alone to decide whether it will fit.

What the public review cannot establish
CHOICE shows a 2017 test year and marks its expert rating and recommendation as members-only. Its publicly visible page also withholds results for temperature stability and evenness, temperature range, response to outside temperatures, default-setting performance, warm-food heat-load processing, 10-year running cost, noise, reliability and owner satisfaction. Those results cannot be inferred from the listed features or specifications.

- COUNTER DEPTH: Built-in look for a seamless fit. The smooth and streamlined exterior design features beautiful flat doors and easy-to-open recessed handles that blend seamlessly into your cabinetry, adding function and style to your kitchen.
- WiFi CONNECTIVITY: Wi-Fi connectivity on your fridge isn’t just a nice-to-have. It’s essential for safety and energy conservation. You’ll get immediate notifications if the temperature drops due to a power outage or if you accidentally leave the door open.
- TWIN COOLING PLUS: Independent fridge and freezer controls keep food fresher, longer.
- ENERGY STAR CERTIFIED: Eco-friendly and energy-efficient.
- FINGERPRINT-RESISTANT FINISH: Finish that withstands everyday smudges so you spend less time cleaning.
As a result, this review cannot support a verdict that the RF442BRGW6 cools consistently, runs quietly, is dependable or is inexpensive to operate. Anyone considering one should seek exact-model service and condition information rather than treating the visible specifications as evidence of performance.

Fisher & Paykel’s Australian page for the RF442BRPX6 describes a related variant, not the RF442BRGW6. That variant is listed at 413 L total capacity (294 L refrigerator and 119 L freezer), with dimensions of 1720 × 680 × 695 mm and energy use of 428 kWh per year. Its listed features include ActiveSmart Foodcare, adaptive defrost, a frost-free freezer, humidity control and an inverter-controlled compressor. These specifications and features should not be transferred to the GW6 without documentation for that exact suffix. See Fisher & Paykel’s RF442BRPX6 page.

Likewise, a New Zealand support result for RF442BRPUX6 mentions parts and water-filter instructions for parts 862285 and 862288; it does not confirm those filters fit the GW6. Owners should read the model suffix from the appliance rating plate and confirm compatibility with Fisher & Paykel before ordering. The RF442BRPUX6 support page is for that related model.

- Exact identity: Match the full RF442BRGW6 suffix on the rating plate to the seller’s listing and paperwork.
- Condition and service: For a used or remaining-stock unit, ask about age, operating history, included parts, delivery, return terms and any warranty that applies in your location.
- Fit: Compare your space and delivery route with the installation manual, not only the product dimensions listed above.
- Performance evidence: Ask for model-specific test results or service records; the public CHOICE page does not disclose the relevant scores.
- Energy comparison: Compare energy figures measured or claimed on a consistent basis for appliances available in your market. The CHOICE listing’s figure is claimed, not a public independent measurement.
- Parts: Verify compatibility by full model suffix before purchasing filters or other replacement parts.
CHOICE lists the RF442BRGW6 as discontinued and displays a historical price of $1,799. That price is not a current quote, and availability should be confirmed with any seller.
