Neither Chrome nor Firefox is guaranteed to make Android’s scrolling screenshot control appear. On Android 12 and later, first take a system screenshot with Power + Volume Down and look for Capture more. Google says the steps work on “most screens that allow you to scroll,” not all of them. If that control is missing, switching browsers may not solve it.
How Android scrolling screenshots work
Google documents scrolling capture as an Android system screenshot flow, rather than a feature it guarantees for a particular browser. The steps apply to Android 12 and later and to most—but not all—screens that allow scrolling. Google’s Android screenshot instructions do not compare Chrome with Firefox Browser or promise that either will expose the control on every webpage.
- Confirm the phone runs Android 12 or later.
- Open the webpage and press Power + Volume Down to take a screenshot.
- If Capture more appears in the screenshot preview, tap it.
- Adjust the crop guides to include the content you want, then save the screenshot.
Firefox vs. Chrome: what can you conclude?
The available official guidance does not establish that Chrome always supports Android’s Capture more control or that Firefox Browser never does. A missing option can depend on the phone, Android version, or the particular screen. There is no sourced cross-browser comparison here for capture quality, speed, or reliability, so it would be misleading to name a universal winner.
To compare them on your device, try the same webpage in each browser and use the same Android screenshot flow. Note whether Capture more appears and whether it includes the page content you need. This checks your actual phone and page without assuming a browser switch will change the system’s behavior.

Firefox Android option: a full-page capture add-on
If you use Firefox for Android and want a browser-level alternative, Mozilla’s listing for FullPage Capture describes full-page and scrolling-selection capture. The listing shows version 0.5.0, released June 14, 2026, and says it works with Firefox 140.0 and later and Android 142.0 and later. Check the current listing and your installed versions before relying on it; this is listed add-on functionality, not an independent test result.
Do not confuse Firefox Browser with Firefox Focus. Mozilla’s Firefox Focus FAQ, last updated October 17, 2025, says screenshots are not available in Firefox Focus itself and points users to Android’s device buttons. That statement is specific to Focus and should not be generalized to Firefox Browser.

Likewise, Firefox’s documentation for taking screenshots in developer tools and Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot help describe desktop tools, not proof that those same tools are available in Firefox for Android.
If Capture more is missing
- Check the Android version. Google’s documented scrolling-screenshot steps apply to Android 12 and later.
- Try a different scrollable page. Google says the feature works on most screens that allow scrolling, not every one.
- Do not assume changing browsers will restore the control. The official Android guidance does not settle Chrome-versus-Firefox behavior across devices and webpages.
- Consider the Firefox add-on only if compatible. The listing states Firefox 140.0+ and Android 142.0+; confirm current compatibility before installation.
