To restore the Firefox View button, open Customize Toolbar, drag the Firefox View icon onto the toolbar, then select Done. These steps apply to Firefox desktop on Windows, macOS, and Linux; labels can vary slightly by platform.
Put Firefox View back on the toolbar

Open toolbar customization: right-click the toolbar or a blank area beside the tab strip and choose Customize Toolbar…. Or open the application menu, select More Tools, then Customize Toolbar….

Find the Firefox View icon in the customization view and drag it onto the toolbar. You can also place it on the tab strip or in the overflow menu.

Select Done or close the customization view to finish.

If Firefox View is already in the overflow menu, drag it from there to the main toolbar. Mozilla documents these placement options in its Firefox View instructions.
Check where the button went—and whether the window is private
Before resetting anything, look in both the overflow menu and the Customize Toolbar palette. Firefox View does not appear in Private Browsing windows; check the toolbar in a regular window if the button seems unavailable.

Open Firefox View without its toolbar button
You can still access Firefox View from the List all tabs menu at the end of the tab strip by selecting View All Tabs. If the Firefox Menu bar is enabled, you can also open it from Tools. Firefox View brings together open tabs, recently closed tabs, tabs from other devices, and browsing history. Tabs from other devices require signing in to a Mozilla account and enabling Sync.

As a later troubleshooting step, open Customize Toolbar and select Restore Defaults. Mozilla warns that this can switch vertical tabs back to horizontal tabs and reset the default theme, so use it only if placing the icon manually does not resolve the problem. Mozilla also describes Firefox Refresh as a recovery option for broader cases of corrupted toolbar settings; it is more disruptive than rearranging toolbar items, so reserve it for a suspected wider settings problem.
