If Firefox’s screenshot stops at the visible viewport, open the screenshot tool and choose Save full page. Save visible captures only what is currently on screen. If a full-page capture still cuts off, let the page finish loading, try again, and use Firefox Troubleshoot Mode to check whether extensions or hardware acceleration may be involved.
Choose the full-page capture mode
Firefox Screenshots offers several capture choices. Select Save full page to request the entire webpage. Choose Save visible only when you want the current viewport. You can also capture a manually selected region or an automatically highlighted part of the page.

Open Firefox Screenshots if the command is missing
On desktop, Mozilla documents these ways to access the feature:
#1 Best Overall
- Right-click an empty area of the webpage and select Take Screenshot.
- Use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Add the Screenshot button through Customize Toolbar.
If the button disappeared, adding it through toolbar customization is the documented way to restore a visible toolbar entry. Mozilla’s screenshot help covers desktop and mobile screenshot creation, but the cited material does not establish that full-page capture behaves identically on desktop, Android, and iOS.
If full-page capture still cuts off
Let the page finish loading and retry
Wait for the content to load before capturing. If the page uses content that appears only after scrolling or waiting, give it time to render, then select Save full page again. Save or copy the result so you can inspect whether the same content is missing.
Test in Troubleshoot Mode
Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode and repeat the capture. If it works there, extensions or hardware acceleration may be contributing. This is a diagnostic check, not proof of a particular cause: the suggestion comes from a case-specific Mozilla Support discussion, not a guarantee that either factor explains every failure. See the older thread, screenshot enabled … but does not ‘capture’ full page.
Treat reports about very long pages as historical, not a current limit
A 2019 Mozilla Support discussion described full-page screenshots cutting off on very long pages and included a moderator’s explanation involving canvas volume. It does not establish a current universal maximum page length, a configurable threshold, or a diagnosis for a present-day capture problem.

Firefox Screenshots privacy note
Mozilla says Screenshots event data can include interactions with controls such as Copy or Save full page, but not the page URL or details of the captured image: “We never collect data such as the URL or details of the image captured.” See Mozilla’s help article for the statement.
Or skip the browser setup
For a developer who needs a screenshot from a URL through an API, ScreenshotNeo can return an image or PDF with one GET request. The example below saves a WebP screenshot of Stripe; replace the target URL as needed. Find the available parameters in the ScreenshotNeo documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses indicate the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides tools for AI agents to take screenshots, get page information, and capture PDFs. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card required; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
