Why Fios TV Mobile won’t install on a Samsung Smart TV
Verizon lists Smart TVs among the devices that are not supported for the Fios TV Mobile app. So if you cannot find that app in Samsung’s app store, that is consistent with Verizon’s published support position—not evidence that you missed a setup step. Verizon’s list does not establish availability for every Samsung model, year, or region.

Fios TV Mobile and Fios TV Home are different apps. Do not search for Fios TV Mobile as a Samsung TV app or assume the Fire TV version runs inside Samsung’s operating system. Use Fios TV Home on a supported streaming device
Verizon describes Fios TV Home as a way to access Fios TV service through a streaming device connected to a television. Verizon lists Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K as a supported device. The app runs on that separate device, not as a native Samsung TV app. Verizon’s Fios TV Home device information

- First, confirm that your Fios TV service and equipment meet the eligibility requirements below.
- Connect a supported streaming device, such as an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, to an HDMI port on the Samsung TV.
- Use the Samsung TV’s input/source control to select the HDMI port where the streaming device is connected.
- On the streaming device, find and set up the Fios TV Home app, then follow its prompts to access your Fios TV service.
Check Fios TV Home eligibility before buying a device
A compatible streaming device by itself does not guarantee access. Verizon says Fios TV Home requires an eligible TV and Home Internet package, at least one installed Verizon Media Server, a Fios TV+ or Fios TV One set-top box, and a Fios router. Verizon warns that a non-Verizon router may prevent access to all channels and the ability to manage and stream DVR recordings through Fios TV Home.

Understand streaming-device authorization
Authorization depends on the Fios TV package. Verizon says packages that allow one or two customer-owned streaming devices require each device to be authorized; an individual device may be authorized up to twice per calendar month. Packages that allow unlimited devices do not require individual device authorization. Check your plan’s rules if the app asks you to authorize a device. Choose the right route for what you want to do

If the Fios TV Home app does not work
- The app or device is unavailable: Recheck Verizon’s current supported-device information; supported lists can change. Fios TV Home supported devices
- You cannot access channels or DVR features: Confirm the package and required Verizon equipment, including the router. Verizon notes limitations when using a non-Verizon router.
- The app requests authorization: Check whether your package allows one or two customer-owned devices and whether the device needs authorization under that plan.
- You meant to control the set-top box: Use the mobile app on a supported mobile device rather than trying to install it on the TV.
