How to reach the Alchemist’s Workshop
The clearest route reported by multiple walkthroughs starts in the Outskirts of Mammon and opens the workshop approach near Castigator’s Keep.

- Get the Makeshift Projectile. Search the southern end of the Outskirts of Mammon, near a group of Grisha hunters. PowerPyx places the pickup there: PowerPyx’s Clockwork Shardstone guide.
- Return to the Outskirts of Mammon Beacon. Use the Makeshift Projectile with the catapult. The walkthroughs describe the shot as opening the route to the Alchemist’s Workshop near Castigator’s Keep.
- Approach from Castigator’s Keep. From the Castigator’s Keep Beacon, go down to the lower area and follow the wooden platforms toward the southwest entrance, as described by PowerPyx.
- Search the workshop for a chest. The guides agree that the item is picked up from a chest inside the Alchemist’s Workshop, but differ on the precise route through its rooms.
Where the chest is inside the workshop
Room-by-room directions are less consistent than the overall route. PowerPyx describes passing a bookshelf and a false wall, operating a lever to reach an elevator, then opening a chest in a lower room. AllThingsHow describes additional hidden areas and a chest in a final chamber. Treat these as guide-reported paths rather than a single settled sequence; the shared destination is the workshop chest. AllThingsHow also reports that striking an illusory wall may open the entrance without first using the catapult. Because that bypass is not the route consistently described across the guides, try the projectile-and-catapult sequence if you want the most corroborated approach.

What Clockwork Shardstone does
The Mortal Shell 2 Database reproduces the item description as: “Consume Resolve over time to hold your weapon before you with its chainsaw spinning at full speed”. It associates Clockwork Shardstone with the Clockwork Scythe.
