Fight or Blight is listed as a Minecraft 1.19.2 Forge modpack. For multiplayer, every client must use the same Minecraft version, Forge loader, pack release and configuration files as the server. The listing also identifies a matching dedicated-server archive, Fight or Blight-0.5.0.zip, but the current release and runtime requirements should be checked on the project’s official release page before you download anything.

What Fight or Blight requires
The available listing identifies Fight or Blight as a Forge pack for Minecraft 1.19.2 and names Fight or Blight-0.5.0.zip as a dedicated-server archive. That information was crawled in 2026 and is only a medium-confidence identification because the listing page was not directly retrievable. Treat the official project page and the files in the release you download as authoritative for the current version.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The compatibility rule
Use one exact release everywhere. A working multiplayer installation requires:
- Minecraft Java Edition 1.19.2, unless a newer official Fight or Blight release explicitly changes the version.
- The Forge loader required by that release.
- The same Fight or Blight pack release on every player’s computer and on the server.
- The same configuration files, including any server configuration distributed with the pack.
CurseForge describes a profile as a collection of the settings and files needed to launch a custom modded Minecraft Java Edition instance. A mod and its profile must target compatible Minecraft versions and use the same modloader. A 1.20.x Forge mod, a Fabric build, or a manually edited configuration from another release is not a safe substitute for the files in the 1.19.2 profile.

Requirements that are not published
The available sources do not establish Fight or Blight’s exact Java runtime, minimum RAM, recommended RAM, CPU requirement or default network port. Do not infer those values from another modpack. Read the release notes, installer output and generated server files for the specific version you intend to run. The server’s actual listening port is the value shown in its server.properties file, not a number you assume from a generic Minecraft guide.
Install Fight or Blight on a client with CurseForge
The CurseForge App is the most direct documented installation route when the pack is published there. It creates an isolated profile so that the mod list, loader and configuration do not get mixed with another instance.
- Open the Minecraft section of the CurseForge App.
- Search for Fight or Blight. Choose the project entry that identifies the intended release rather than an unrelated similarly named profile.
- Select Install, or use the project’s import option if you were given a profile file.
- Open the new profile and confirm that it shows Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge. If either value differs from the release you are joining, stop and select the correct profile.
- Launch the profile once. The first launch creates the instance directory, configuration files and any required generated files; it can take longer than later launches.
- Close Minecraft after reaching the title screen, then launch it again before connecting to a server. This second start helps reveal missing libraries or configuration errors before you troubleshoot a network connection.
Do not “fix” a failed profile by mixing loaders
CurseForge marks combinations incompatible when a mod targets a different Minecraft version or modloader. Do not copy Fabric, NeoForge or another Minecraft-version mod into this Forge profile to solve an error. Remove the added file, restore the profile’s original configuration and reinstall the exact pack release if the instance was altered.

Check the release before inviting players
Open the profile’s mod list and version information and record the release number you selected. Give that number to friends. If the project offers more than one 1.19.2 build, “1.19.2” alone is not enough to guarantee compatibility; the pack release and configuration set must also match.
Set up a dedicated Fight or Blight server yourself
Self-hosting gives you control over the files, world, backups and update schedule, but it requires more setup than a managed service. Use the matching server archive whenever one is available. A client profile export is not a replacement for a server pack: it may contain client-only mods, omit server launch files or lack server-specific configuration.
Prepare a clean server directory
- Create a new directory used only for this server. Do not unpack the files over an existing vanilla world or another modpack.
- Download the server archive that corresponds to the exact Fight or Blight release. The identified listing names
Fight or Blight-0.5.0.zip; verify that filename and version against the official release page before using it. - Extract the archive into the clean directory, preserving its folder structure. If the archive contains a readme or launch script, read it before moving files.
- Install or invoke the Forge server version required by the pack. Follow the installer’s instructions and use the launch script supplied by the server archive when one is present.
Run the server once and accept the EULA
- Start the server with the supplied Forge launch script or the command specified in the release files. The first run normally creates
eula.txt,server.properties, world data and logs. - Stop the process after it finishes generating files. Do not kill it while it is still writing the world.
- Open
eula.txt, read Mojang’s terms and change the EULA setting toeula=trueonly if you agree to them. - Review the generated configuration before allowing anyone to connect. Set the world name, difficulty, whitelist and other pack-specific options according to your group’s needs.
- Start the server again and wait for the console to report that it is ready for connections. The exact wording varies by Forge build; a process that is still loading mods is not ready even if a window is visible.
Keep the server directory reproducible
Before the first shared session, copy the complete server directory to a backup location while the server is stopped. Include the world, configuration, scripts and pack files. For later backups, stop the server cleanly first so region files are flushed. Keep a dated copy before changing the modpack or Forge version; reverting is much easier when the previous world and configuration are intact.

Give players the right connection details
Players need the address reachable from their location and the port configured in server.properties. On the same home network, the host’s local address may work; friends on the internet need the public address and a router rule forwarding the configured port to the host computer. Tell players the exact pack release and Forge version as well as the address. A connection refusal can be a network problem, while a mod-list mismatch usually means the address is working but the client files are wrong.
Port forwarding and home-network hosting
Port forwarding is required only when people outside your local network must reach a server running at home. The labels differ by router, but the process is consistent:
- Give the host computer a stable local address, either with a static configuration or a DHCP reservation in the router.
- In the router’s port-forwarding or virtual-server page, create a rule for the exact port shown in the server’s
server.properties. Forward the same protocol and port to the host computer’s local address unless the Forge release documentation specifies otherwise. - Allow the Java server process through the operating system firewall. Permit only the network profile and port you actually use.
- Start the server and test from outside the home network, for example using a friend’s connection. Testing only from the host’s own computer does not prove that forwarding works.
- Use a whitelist and share the address privately. Turn off forwarding when the server is no longer needed.
Some internet providers use carrier-grade NAT, which prevents inbound forwarding even when the router appears correctly configured. In that case, ask the provider for a public address or use managed hosting instead of repeatedly changing router settings.

Use managed CurseForge hosting instead
CurseForge documents a hosted-server workflow for modpacks that have a matching server pack. It selects the pack and server archive, provisions the machine and avoids manual uploads and port forwarding. CurseForge states that Shockbyte performs setup and support, while Tebex handles billing. Availability, regions and prices can change, so confirm the pack and plan in the panel before paying.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Provisioning flow
- Open the CurseForge server-creation flow and choose Fight or Blight only if the interface shows a matching server pack.
- Check the displayed server-pack filename and release. The guide warns that some modpacks expose multiple server ZIP versions; select the one matching your players’ profile.
- Choose a plan, geographic region and server name.
- Complete payment through the displayed billing process.
- Wait for provisioning to finish, then open the control panel and verify that the server reaches a ready state before inviting players.
The documented service supports roughly 9,000 modpacks. Its practical advantage is that the provider handles installation, restarts and support; you trade away some file-level control and add a recurring charge.
Published hosting tiers
| Plan | Monthly price | Memory | CPU | Documented player range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron | $12 per month | 4 GB RAM | 2 shared CPUs | 1–5 players |
| Gold | $24 per month | 8 GB RAM | 3 shared CPUs | 6–15 players |
| Diamond | $36 per month | 12 GB RAM | 4 shared CPUs | 16–25 players |
These figures are the tiers documented by CurseForge Support in 2026, not a measured Fight or Blight requirement or a guarantee of tick performance. The available Fight or Blight sources do not say which tier is sufficient. Start with the smallest tier that fits your expected group only after checking the pack’s current files, and watch the provider’s memory and CPU graphs during play.

Invite friends without manual file hunting
CurseForge can generate a direct link or import code for an existing hosted server. A friend opening it in the CurseForge App receives the server’s modpack, IP address and connection details. The link or code is time-limited, so send a fresh one if it expires. Players still need the Java Edition launcher and must accept any prompts to install or update the profile.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Self-hosting versus managed hosting
| Decision factor | Home server | Managed CurseForge server |
|---|---|---|
| Control | Full control of files, scripts, worlds and update timing. | Provider controls the underlying machine; panel tools expose the common settings. |
| Initial work | Download, extract, install Forge, accept the EULA, configure the firewall and possibly forward a port. | Select a matching server pack, plan and region in the hosted flow. |
| Cost | No hosting subscription, but you supply the computer, electricity and internet connection. | Recurring plans documented at $12, $24 and $36 per month for the listed tiers. |
| Networking | You handle the public address, forwarding, firewall and carrier-grade-NAT limitations. | No manual port forwarding is required in the documented workflow. |
| Backups and restarts | You must create backups and arrange automatic restarts yourself. | Use the provider’s control-panel tools where available; verify retention before relying on them. |
| Latency | Depends on your home upload connection and location. | Choose the region closest to most players, subject to availability. |
| Version pinning | You can archive and restore an exact pack release manually. | Confirm the selected server ZIP before purchase and retain a copy of the client release. |
Choose self-hosting when one person can maintain the machine and the group values file-level control. Choose managed hosting when friends need reliable access without router work, or when the host computer cannot stay online.

Modrinth and other tools
Modrinth defines a modpack as mods bundled with additional files such as configuration files. Its general tooling includes the Modrinth App for clients, Modrinth Servers, mrpack-install and the itzg/minecraft-server Docker image for server-side deployments.
Those are general alternatives, not a confirmed Fight or Blight installation path. The available information does not verify that the current Fight or Blight release is published in Modrinth format. Do not convert or rebuild the pack simply because another launcher supports a similarly named project. Use Modrinth only after confirming that the exact release and Forge metadata are available there.
Troubleshoot the common failures
The client crashes before the title screen
- Confirm the profile says Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge.
- Remove any mod added from another Minecraft version or loader.
- Restore the original configuration files or reinstall the exact pack release.
- Read the latest crash log for the first named mod or dependency; the final line is often only a consequence.
The server stops during startup
- Verify that the server archive matches the client release and is not a client-only export.
- Check that the Forge server installation matches the pack’s loader.
- Read the console from the first error, not only the last stack-trace line.
- Restore the clean backup made before configuration or mod changes.
Players receive a mod-list or registry mismatch
- Compare the Minecraft version, Forge version, pack release and configuration set on every computer.
- Have the affected player launch the supplied profile once so its files regenerate.
- Do not copy a working player’s individual mod jar into another release; reinstall the complete matching profile.
The server is running but nobody can join
- Check the server console for its ready message and confirm the configured port in
server.properties. - For home hosting, verify the local address, router forwarding rule and operating-system firewall.
- Test from outside the host’s network. A local test can succeed even when internet forwarding is blocked.
- For hosted servers, confirm the panel shows the correct IP, port and running state.
CurseForge hosting remains stuck
If provisioning remains stuck for more than five minutes, inspect the provider control panel for an error and contact Shockbyte support through the documented support route. Do not purchase a second server while the first request is still unresolved.
Quick Recap
Before your first multiplayer session
- Record the exact Fight or Blight release and Forge version.
- Confirm every player can launch the profile to the title screen.
- Back up the server world with the server stopped.
- Set a whitelist if the address will be shared beyond your friend group.
- Confirm the server’s configured port and distribute the complete address.
- For managed hosting, verify the server-pack filename, region, plan limits and billing terms.
- Keep the original archive and configuration so you can roll back after an update.
