FieldAI has reportedly signed a term sheet for a proposed $700 million financing at a $10 billion valuation, but the round had not closed as of The Next Web’s October 2, 2026 report. The financing details were attributed to Business Insider reporting; FieldAI did not respond to The Next Web’s request for comment. This is a reported deal, not a completed or company-confirmed raise.
What is known about the proposed financing?
The Next Web reported that FieldAI had signed a term sheet for a $700 million round at a $10 billion valuation, citing Business Insider’s reporting. A signed term sheet describes proposed financing terms; it does not by itself mean the money has been received or the round has closed. The outlet said the financing remained unclosed when it published on October 2, 2026, and that FieldAI did not respond to its request for comment. The Next Web’s report is the available account of the Business Insider reporting, rather than a separate company announcement.

The same report said FieldAI had been valued at $2 billion just over a year earlier. That is a reported comparison, not a company-confirmed valuation history or a finalized figure for the proposed round. No independently verified revenue or customer-count figures are established in the available account.

What does FieldAI make?
FieldAI describes its EDGE product as a general-purpose “robot brain” and says its Field Foundation Models use a Belief World Model as a predictive engine for reasoning under uncertainty. Its stated aim is software that can work across different robots, tasks, and environments. These are the company’s descriptions of its technology, not independent findings about performance.
#1 Best Overall
FieldAI’s website lists construction, urban operations, industrial and energy, federal, manufacturing, mining, power and utility, and agriculture as industries it serves. The Next Web describes FieldAI as a software company that does not make physical robots, and reports customers in construction, data-centre operations, and defence. Those categories offer market context but do not establish customer counts, contract values, or deployment results.
Why does the software-versus-hardware distinction matter?
The reported valuation concerns a company developing software intended to operate robots made by others, rather than a manufacturer selling its own robot hardware. That distinction matters when interpreting what FieldAI’s business is: its proposition, as described by the company, is software intended to span machines and environments, while the financing report does not provide independently verified financial or customer metrics with which to assess adoption.

FieldAI’s site lists announcements dated September 2, 2026, about Caterpillar and FieldAI, and March 16, 2026, about NVIDIA Omniverse and industrial customer adoption. These announcements identify named companies and topics, but by themselves do not establish the precise commercial arrangement, an investment, or an affiliate relationship.

As of The Next Web’s October 2, 2026 report, FieldAI’s $700 million financing at a $10 billion valuation was a proposed round with a signed term sheet, not a completed raise. FieldAI presents itself as a provider of general-purpose robotics software; the reported valuation and deal status should remain attributed to the outlet’s account of Business Insider reporting until a closing or company confirmation is established.
