To unlock the level 60 Alexander normal raids in Final Fantasy XIV, finish the Heavensward main scenario quest “Heavensward,” then speak to Slowfix in Idyllshire and accept “Disarmed.” That begins Alexander: Gordias. The questline continues in order through Midas and The Creator; Alexander (Savage) requires a separate unlock quest after the normal storyline.
What to complete before starting Alexander
- Complete the Heavensward main scenario quest “Heavensward.” Square Enix’s Patch 3.01 notes say players must first complete it to access the Alexander raids: Patch 3.01 notes.
- Be level 60 on a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic.
Where to start the Alexander quest
Unlock Gordias with “Disarmed”
- Travel to Idyllshire.
- Speak to Slowfix at X:7, Y:6, and accept “Disarmed.” This opens Alexander: Gordias.
- Once unlocked, queue for the raids through the Duty Finder. The original Patch 3.01 notes specified an average item level of 170 for Gordias and said players could queue solo. That item-level figure is historical, not a guarantee of the current entry requirement; if a duty is unavailable, check its live Duty Finder listing.
How to unlock Alexander Midas
After completing the Gordias quest chain through “Enigma,” begin the Midas chain with “Rearmed.” Find Roundrox in the Dravanian Hinterlands at X:21.7, Y:18.8. The official Patch 3.2 notes list the follow-up quests in this order:

How to unlock Alexander Savage
Savage is not unlocked automatically by opening the normal raids. This additional quest unlocks Alexander (Savage), which is a separate, more difficult version of the raid series. The normal and Savage routes are listed in the official Patch 3.2 notes.

- This product is a digital 60-Day Game Time Card for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. It serves as a payment option that allows players to add 60 days of game time to their FFXIV account at the Standard subscription rate, subject to account limits. Both the game and game time are required to play.

If a specific Alexander duty is still locked
Unlocking a raid tier through its quest chain does not necessarily mean every duty listing has identical entry conditions. Check the specific duty in the Duty Finder if it remains inaccessible; the Lodestone’s listing for Alexander – The Burden of the Son, for example, includes “Triple Triad Trial” as a prerequisite: Alexander – The Burden of the Son.
