The README describes FastSemanticEmbeddingProvider as a deterministic lexical embedder using keyword anchors and character n-grams, not a neural network. The repository documents OpenAI embeddings and custom EmbeddingProvider implementations as alternatives. Those choices can change embedding quality, operational dependencies, and cost; the documentation does not establish that one provider is universally more accurate. Evaluate representative speech transcripts, including paraphrases, short replies, noise-related transcription errors, and out-of-scope requests.
The planned predictor is not a released capability
The project describes a trained predictor that would transform context into a predicted next state, but labels that capability as planned. The README says jev.predictorModel currently throws. Do not design around a working trained next-state predictor unless a later release and its documentation confirm that status.

What Felona Voice does not provide as a complete stack
Felona Voice is a framework whose speech, transport, and application layers are assembled from integrations and developer code. Its README lists speech-to-text options such as Deepgram streaming, Whisper, AssemblyAI, Azure, and Google; text-to-speech options such as ElevenLabs, Deepgram Aura, Cartesia Sonic, OpenAI, Azure, Polly, and LMNT; and transports including WebSocket, Twilio Media Streams, and WebRTC. These are project-documented options, not a guarantee that every integration is available or unchanged in every release.
The README describes a native ToolRegistry and MCP over JSON-RPC for tooling. It also says the described release has no built-in LLM provider. An application can call an LLM from an action handler if it needs generated phrasing, but that is separate from JEV’s selection among defined actions. A deterministic route choice therefore does not make transcription, handler behavior, retrieved information, or an LLM-generated response deterministic or error-free. How to evaluate the architecture for your application
There is no controlled comparative evaluation in the cited project material that establishes a universal winner. A useful assessment starts with the application’s own graph, transcripts, response requirements, and deployment environment.

- Test bounded routing and off-script behavior: Include valid requests, ambiguous phrasing, unsupported requests, and speech-recognition mistakes. Check whether the fallback is safe and whether the application recovers cleanly.
- Assess embedding fit: Compare the lexical default with any separately supplied embedding provider using your actual action descriptions and user language.
- Check graph maintainability: As states and actions grow, review whether transitions remain understandable, valid actions are appropriate in each state, and changes can be tested without unintended routes.
- Account for the whole service: Include speech-service, transport or telephony, hosting, and any LLM costs rather than treating routing as the full cost of a voice interaction.
- Plan operations: The README describes finite concurrency, maximum call duration, outbound-request deadlines and retries, capped audio buffers, and cancellation of TTS work on barge-in. It also identifies rate limiting, compliance, and load testing as deployment responsibilities. Confirm defaults for the release you use and test them under expected load.
