An SBC can be the quicker route if you already have suitable items and are willing to give them up; Objectives can take less extra effort when their tasks fit the matches or modes you planned to play. Compare the specific requirements, reward, expiry, time and item cost—not just the category name.
How SBCs and Objectives work
Squad Building Challenges use Player Items
An SBC asks you to submit a squad that meets its listed conditions. Requirements may cover squad rating, chemistry, player quality, league, nation or club. A challenge may have one part or several, with individual rewards and sometimes a group reward; some SBCs are repeatable. EA says submitted items are permanently removed from your Club and cannot be restored by its advisers. Review the requirements and reward before submitting, especially if you may need those players later. EA Help explains how Ultimate Team SBCs work.

Objectives ask you to complete activities
Objectives can be tied to seasons, campaigns, Evolutions, Live Events, Gallery progress and other activities. EA describes daily, weekly, season, dynamic, foundation, milestone, mastery and gallery Objectives. Tasks may award Season Points or other rewards, and their conditions and duration depend on the individual listing. Season Points advance Season Pass reward levels; the Pass can include content for multiple supported game modes. Check the Campaign Hub and the in-game listing for task details and expiry. “Easier” can mean fewer matches, less menu work, lower cost, less risk to your squad or a reward you are more likely to finish earning. EA’s published guides explain the mechanics; they do not establish a universal winner or comparative completion time. Treat the table as a way to weigh a particular listing, not as a measured ranking.

How to choose between two live listings
- Read the full requirements. For an SBC, include every part of a multi-challenge group. For an Objective, check the qualifying activity, player conditions and actions required.
- Price the real cost. For an SBC, consider the items you would lose, not just whether they are already in your Club. For an Objective, consider how many additional matches or activities it would add to your play.
- Compare the reward and expiry. Decide whether the reward is worth that cost and whether you have enough time to finish before the listing expires.
- Choose the path that fits your situation. Use an SBC when the reward justifies consuming available items; favor an Objective when its tasks fit play you already plan to do.
Why old campaign examples do not answer what is live now
EA’s June 2026 Journey of Nations materials described an event with over 250 challenges and tokens earned through Rivals, Squad Battles, Rush, Live Events, selected Objectives and selected SBCs. That dated example shows how a campaign can combine reward paths; it is not a current challenge count or a description of today’s listings. EA’s June 2026 FC 26 update provides the event context.
Likewise, EA’s February 20, 2026 Fantasy FC announcement described a competition in which “every win unlock[s] a new one.” It illustrates that an event-linked path may depend on match results, not that Objectives overall are harder than SBCs. EA’s Fantasy FC announcement is a dated example.

For a decision about a particular account, use the current in-game listings: the available SBCs and Objectives, their exact rewards, conditions and expiry can change. EA’s FC 26 page identifies the game version referenced by these examples.
