Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo play Farming Crossing 4 with friends, everyone must use the same client release—Farming Crossing 4 v4.1.13—on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. The multiplayer computer must run the separate Farming Crossing 4 Server Pack v4.1.13. Do not combine that server pack with an older client, a newer client, or another Minecraft and loader combination.
Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
CurseForge lists the client release as uploaded August 7, 2024, and the matching server pack as uploaded August 8, 2024. Once every participant reports the same Minecraft and Forge versions, the group can share a world built around collecting, farming, cooking, fishing, decorating, quests and welcoming villagers.

|---|---|---|
| Modpack client | Farming Crossing 4 v4.1.13 | Install this same profile for every player. |
| Minecraft | 1.20.1 | All clients and the server must report this version. |

The most common avoidable failure is version drift: one player updates the client, while the server remains on the previous file set. Treat the version string as part of the server address: record it in your group chat and check it again after every update.

What Farming Crossing 4 adds to a shared world
Farming Crossing 4 is a farming, exploring and decorating modpack inspired by Animal Crossing for Minecraft 1.20.1. Its multiplayer appeal comes from several activities that can happen at the same time rather than from a single required class or role.
- Animal spotting: explore to find and observe animals.
- Cooking and fishing: catch fish, prepare dishes and turn those activities into progression.
- Flora collecting: search for plants and other natural items.
- Decoration collecting: gather furnishings and display pieces for shared builds.
- Villager projects: help special villagers move in by building themed rooms or houses.
- Server-chat flavor text: read the text villagers provide in shared chat.
- Collection achievements: complete collection goals as a group.
- Miles Tickets: earn tickets by selling fish and dishes.
- Furniture production: convert logs into furniture.
- Quests and the market: complete quests and buy items through the customized FarmingForBlockheads market.
These systems make a cooperative task board useful. One person can fish and cook while another gathers flora and decorations and a third builds villager rooms. That is an efficient way to divide attention, not a set of mandatory jobs; every player can switch activities whenever the shared project changes.
Prerequisites before anyone joins
Install Java and keep it current
CurseForge support states that Java is required to run Minecraft modpacks and warns that an outdated Java installation can cause problems. Install Java on every computer that will launch the client or server, then update it before troubleshooting mods. If a launcher reports a Java runtime error, treat the runtime as a prerequisite issue first rather than immediately reinstalling every mod.
Choose who will run the world
Decide whether one player’s computer, a machine on your local network, or a rented game-server machine will host the world. The decision affects upload capacity, uptime, backups and latency. The pack’s official material does not publish a minimum memory amount, CPU requirement, maximum player count or benchmark, so do not select a plan based on an alleged official number.

Write down the version line
Before installation, send the following text to every participant: Farming Crossing 4 v4.1.13 | Minecraft 1.20.1 | Forge. Ask players to keep a screenshot of their installed profile. This simple record makes it easier to identify a mismatched profile after a launcher update.
Install the client profile for each player
- Open the CurseForge Minecraft area and locate the Farming Crossing 4 project.
- Select the v4.1.13 client release, not a historical release and not the similarly named server download.
- Install the profile through the launcher and allow its mod files to finish downloading before pressing Play.
- Open the profile’s version or settings information and confirm that it reports Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge.
- Launch the profile once in single-player and reach the title screen. This confirms that the local installation can start before you add a network connection.
- Exit the game normally. Give the host the exact version line and wait for the host to finish preparing the server before attempting to connect.
Every player should repeat the process independently. Copying one player’s instance directory over another can preserve incorrect paths or a different profile version, so a clean profile installation is easier to audit when the group is troubleshooting.
Prepare the matching server pack
The dedicated server download is separate from the client profile. On the machine that will run the world, obtain Farming Crossing 4 Server Pack v4.1.13, the listing CurseForge identifies as uploaded August 8, 2024.
- Create a new, clearly named server directory for this pack. Keeping it separate from other Minecraft servers prevents files from different modpacks being mixed.
- Extract the server-pack archive into that directory, preserving its folder structure.
- Read the included server instructions and use the launch file or command supplied with that pack. Do not substitute a launcher for another Minecraft version or loader.
- Complete any first-start license or configuration prompts shown by the server software, then stop the server cleanly.
- Start it again and wait until the console indicates that the world is ready to accept connections.
- Record the server’s reported Minecraft and Forge versions and compare them with the client profile before inviting anyone.
The server pack should be treated as the authoritative file set for the host. Installing the client profile on the server machine does not replace the server pack, and placing unrelated mods in the server directory can create a different dependency set from the one your players installed.

Connect the group in a controlled first session
- Have the host start the server and remain online to watch its console.
- Give players the correct local-network address or the address supplied by the hosting machine. Keep that address private if the server is not intended to be public.
- Each player opens the v4.1.13 profile, selects multiplayer, and adds the host’s address.
- Connect one player first. Check that the player can load the world, move, open an inventory and interact with a block.
- Connect the remaining players one at a time. If the first connection works but the next fails, compare the failed player’s profile rather than changing the server immediately.
- Before beginning a major build, stop the server and make a copy of the world directory. Keep the backup outside the live server directory.
A staged first connection separates network problems from mod-loading problems. If nobody can join, inspect the host and server versions. If one person cannot join while others can, inspect that player’s Java runtime, profile version and local installation.
A practical cooperative task board
The pack’s activities naturally support a shared checklist. Agree on a small first-day target instead of sending everyone in different directions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsStarter exploration
- Choose a central home area where collected furniture and flora can be displayed.
- Send one player to scout animals and nearby natural resources.
- Have another player begin fishing and saving catches for cooking or sale.
- Collect logs for the furniture chain and reserve a storage area for building materials.
First villager project
- Select a themed room or house concept that fits the settlement.
- Separate construction materials from items intended for decoration.
- Use the shared storage system to avoid three players collecting the same basic blocks.
- Finish the room before inviting the special villager, so the group can observe the move-in result together.
Progression and trading
- Track which collection achievements are incomplete.
- Sell surplus fish and dishes when the group wants Miles Tickets.
- Use the customized FarmingForBlockheads market for items that support the current build or quest.
- Read villager flavor text in server chat; it is easy for a player to miss when several people are talking at once.
These assignments are organizational suggestions, not restrictions imposed by the modpack. Rotate them so one player is not permanently responsible for a single resource.
Compare hosting approaches before paying for a server
The official project information does not verify a recommended hosting company, minimum RAM, player cap, benchmark or current monthly price. You can still compare hosting approaches using the requirements that matter for this particular pack.

| Hosting approach | What to verify | Advantages | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|
| One player’s computer | Forge 1.20.1 support, ability to upload the v4.1.13 server pack, available CPU and memory, and a reliable upload connection | No separate monthly server bill; full control of files and backups | The host must keep the computer and game running; home-network latency and outages affect everyone |
| Local-network machine | The same Forge and server-pack requirements, plus access from every player on the network | Usually low latency for people in the same home or office | Does not automatically provide remote access; the machine still needs maintenance and backups |
| Rented game-server machine | Explicit Forge 1.20.1 support, server-pack upload, modpack update controls, automated backups, player-limit policy and the server’s geographic location | Can stay online when the original host is away; management and backups may be centralized | Recurring cost, provider-specific limits and possible latency for distant players |
Ask a provider to confirm that you can upload and run this exact server pack rather than assuming that a generic Forge plan supports every modpack. Also ask how backups are created and restored, whether you can download a copy of the world, and how an update can be rolled back. Those answers are more useful than an advertised player number that was measured for a different pack.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Backups and version maintenance
CurseForge lists multiple historical Farming Crossing 4 releases. That history makes accidental version drift a realistic maintenance risk, especially when a player updates the client profile before the host updates the server.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Back up the world before changing the client or server pack.
- Keep the old server directory until the new version has been tested.
- Change one side at a time only when you have a matching client and server release available.
- Label backups with the pack version and date, such as
FC4-v4.1.13-world-2024-08-08. - Have every player confirm the new profile before reconnecting after an update.
If a new release is not available as a matching client and server pair, leave the running world on the known-good pair. A newer client cannot be assumed to connect to an older server merely because both files use the Farming Crossing 4 name.
Troubleshoot the failures that occur most often
The launcher will not install or start the pack
Confirm Java is installed and updated on the affected computer. CurseForge’s first generic installation recommendation is to use its Repair Installation option. Run that repair before deleting worlds or manually replacing mod files. If the issue specifically identifies Forge, follow CurseForge’s Forge troubleshooting guidance rather than treating it as a network problem.

The server starts, but a player receives a mod or version mismatch
Compare the player’s profile name, pack release, Minecraft version and loader with the server’s values. The expected line is v4.1.13, Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge on both sides. Reinstall the client profile if its files do not match; do not add random replacement mods to make an error message disappear.
Everyone is rejected from the server
Check that the server actually finished starting, that the host supplied the correct address, and that the server is running the dedicated v4.1.13 server pack. If the server console reports a Forge or Java startup failure, resolve that local startup error first. A server that never reaches a ready state cannot accept a valid client connection.
Recommended Free Tools
Only one player cannot connect
Inspect that player’s Java installation, profile release and loader first. Have the player launch the profile to the title screen in single-player, then try again. If other players remain connected, avoid changing the server files until the individual client has been compared with the known-good profile.
The world behaves differently after an update
Stop and restore the pre-update backup rather than continuing to write new data to a possibly incompatible world. Verify that the same release is installed everywhere, then test the updated pair with a copy of the world before making it the live server.
Limits of the published specifications
No official minimum RAM, CPU recommendation, benchmark, player cap, guaranteed hosting plan or current affiliate payout is established in the available project and support information. Hardware and monthly-cost advice therefore has to come from the server host’s own documented limits or from your group’s observed workload, not from an invented “official” requirement.
The reliable decisions are narrower and more useful: lock every participant to Farming Crossing 4 v4.1.13 on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge, run the dedicated v4.1.13 server pack, keep Java current, use CurseForge repair tools for generic installation failures, and back up the world before changing versions.
