If you enjoy the soaring martial-arts fantasy of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the game to look into is Where Winds Meet. NetEase describes it as an open-world wuxia action-adventure RPG—not, in the announcement reviewed here, an MMO. Its appeal is the chance to explore a wuxia world and fight with an array of martial-arts weapons.
Why it connects with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Wuxia stories center on martial artists whose skill can seem almost superhuman, set against the history and traditions of ancient China. PlayStation Blog used Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as an example when introducing the genre in its September 25, 2025 article about the game. NetEase likewise named the film among works that have brought wuxia to a broad audience.

That comparison describes a genre connection, not a claim that the game adapts the film or shares its story. Where Winds Meet is presented as an open-world role-playing adventure rooted in wuxia fantasy.
What its combat looks like
PlayStation Blog highlighted an umbrella used as a weapon, a fitting example of wuxia combat turning familiar objects into tools for extraordinary martial skill. The Steam listing also names weapons including a sword, spear, dual blades, rope dart, bow, and fan. These are examples, not a definitive inventory of every weapon or current game feature.

The premise should appeal if what you want is stylized martial-arts action rather than a literal recreation of the film’s characters or plot. The available sources describe the concept and weapon examples; they do not establish a gameplay verdict or independently assess the game’s visuals.
Is it an MMO, and where can you play?
The headline’s “MMO” label is not the genre wording used in the publisher announcement. NetEase calls Where Winds Meet an “open-world wuxia action-adventure RPG.” That distinction matters: the sources cited here do not verify “MMO” as the game’s formal genre label.
