Fallout 76’s roadmap, published by Bethesda Game Studios on September 30, 2026, outlines three major additions planned through 2027: World Pets in December 2026, Hideouts next spring, and a Raven Rock expansion sometime in 2027. These are future plans, not confirmation that the features are live. Bethesda’s directors’ letter gives the broad roadmap; a separate September 28 Public Test Server (PTS) article provides evolving test details for pets and Skyline Valley.

Planned for December 2026, World Pets is intended to let existing C.A.M.P. Pets accompany players away from camp and grow more capable as they adventure and level alongside them. Bethesda says current interactions are meant to carry over; listed commands include Stay, Follow, Protect, and Kill.

The PTS article describes summonable Dogs, Cats, Radhogs, and Deathclaws, as well as pet progression and passive abilities. It also mentions a pet health bar, nameplate display choices (Complete, Partial, Icon, or Hidden), and ongoing work on progression menus, pet XP, buffs, and pet-specific passives. These are test details and may change; Bethesda cautions that not all PTS content is guaranteed to ship in the update being tested.
How pets connect to Skyline Valley bounty hunting
Bethesda presents bounty hunting in Skyline Valley as a reason to take a companion out exploring. In the PTS, The Trading Post is described as the hub and Marshal Canton as the bounty contact. Test encounters include Super Mutants, Mothman Cultists, The Lost, and other enemies. The same PTS article describes environmental changes to paths, vegetation, lighting, and weather in the region. Those details describe test content, not a final release specification.

Hideouts add a tougher bounty step before Raids
Planned for next spring, Hideouts are described as dangerous bounty locations in abandoned parts of Appalachia. They are meant to build on smaller contracts with more challenging team encounters: groups will be encouraged to try different paths and strategies against a “head honcho.”
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBethesda says Hideouts are intended, at most levels, to bridge early endgame and Raids, calling them “a much-needed steppingstone between the early endgame and Raids.” The letter also names a higher “Marked” difficulty with better rewards and a rival bounty hunter, the Drifter, who tries to claim the rewards. It does not provide a calendar launch date, encounter layouts, or reward tables, so those specifics remain unannounced.

- Hydro Tech Exo Power Armor: Deep water power armor or interesting way to catch fish by hand? This Power Armor is probably not best used for that.
- Appalachian Contessa Prefab: Place the Appalachian Contessa in your C.A.M.P. and be the captain of your own ship.
- Live Bait Barrel: Have a fresh selection of fishing bait available in your C.A.M.P. to help you catch some fish.
- Floating Bouy Set: For those who likes to flot things around, even in radiated water
- Charmcaster Fishing Rod: For those who said fising is a boring hobey
Raven Rock expands the map toward the Capital Wasteland
Bethesda says Raven Rock will expand the map toward the Capital Wasteland and bring a story set almost 200 years before Fallout 3. The announcement frames the plot around two derelict Enclave operators and refers to destruction from 27 years earlier within the fictional setting. Raven Rock is planned for 2027, but the letter gives neither an exact release date nor a full feature list. Those story details are the extent of the announced framing; they do not establish additional continuity specifics.
Other work Bethesda has mentioned
The directors’ letter also says the team is working on Seasonal Events, rendering, weather, the new-player experience, and fishing, including seasonal fish. A gold Axolotl appears only as a rumor in the announcement, not as a confirmed feature.

What is confirmed—and what is still subject to change
- Roadmap plans: World Pets, Hideouts, Raven Rock, and the other work above are Bethesda’s announced future plans; the roadmap is not evidence that they are already available.
- PTS behavior: The September 28 test article documents features and fixes under development. Test mechanics, species, interface options, and regional changes can evolve, and Bethesda says some PTS content may not ship in the update under test.
- Unspecified dates and mechanics: Only World Pets has a month-level window in this roadmap. Hideouts are scheduled for next spring and Raven Rock for 2027, without exact dates; detailed Hideout structure and Raven Rock’s complete feature set have not been announced.
For players deciding what to watch for, World Pets is the near-term companion update; Hideouts target more demanding group bounty play; Raven Rock is the larger story and map addition. All three remain roadmap items until Bethesda confirms their release.
