The result depends on the generation, model, sales region, and workload: Snapdragon leads some short CPU and graphics tests in the Galaxy S26 comparisons, while Exynos matches it in some multi-core and sustained graphics results. Battery findings also differ between the S24 and S26, and the available heat observations do not establish a universal winner.
First check which Exynos and Snapdragon phones you are comparing
“Exynos vs Snapdragon Galaxy phones” is not one fixed contest. Samsung has sold different processor configurations across generations and markets. Its 2026 interim report lists the Galaxy S24 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400, while the Galaxy S25 series is listed with Snapdragon 8 Elite. Reporting on the Galaxy S26 describes Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the S26 Ultra and in select markets, and Exynos 2600 in some regional S26 and S26+ models.

Those are platform and availability descriptions, not a guarantee that every phone in a given country has the same chip. Check the processor listed for the exact model and regional SKU before comparing reviews or buying. Samsung’s corporate report establishes model-platform context; it is not an independent speed, battery, or heat test.
Does Snapdragon perform better than Exynos?
In the reviewed Galaxy S26 comparisons, Snapdragon generally leads single-core CPU performance and some demanding standard graphics tests. That does not translate into a clean win in every benchmark: multi-core results are close, and Exynos can sustain performance well in particular graphics stress tests. Results from different S26 models also vary, so they should not be pooled into a single chipset ranking.

Android Authority’s Galaxy S26 comparison
Android Authority reported a 16% Snapdragon lead in Geekbench 6 single-core performance, while the multi-core difference was only 1%. The review characterized Snapdragon’s CPU and GPU as faster overall but noted that Exynos could match it in some workloads. A short single-core result is relevant to some tasks, such as app loading and emulation, but it is not a measure of every aspect of day-to-day speed.
Graphics depended on the test. In 3DMark Wild Life Extreme rasterization, Snapdragon led by 25% in the reported result. In the stress run, however, Exynos had a higher sustainability result: 74.9%, compared with 53.8% for Snapdragon. After about nine minutes the results converged, and Exynos was marginally ahead in the final quarter. In the Solar Bay ray-tracing test, the chips were described as essentially tied; Exynos sustained its peak score for three runs, while Snapdragon did so for one. These are results from specific reviewer devices and tests, not a prediction for every game.

Tom’s Guide’s model-specific results
Tom’s Guide’s Geekbench 6.6 and 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited results show why the exact model matters. The figures below are that publication’s reported results; the different model and processor combinations do not isolate the chip as the only variable.

These results do not support a blanket claim that one chip wins every test: the S26 Exynos scored higher than its Snapdragon counterpart in multi-core and Wild Life Unlimited, while the S26+ Snapdragon led those listed results. The model, test, and run conditions matter alongside the processor.

Does Exynos or Snapdragon have better battery life?
There is no generation-independent answer in these comparisons. Android Authority’s Galaxy S24 review compared regular S24 Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones with the same battery capacity and display specifications. It found a Snapdragon performance edge, while its testing suggested Exynos owners could get better battery life in common workloads. That is a finding about those S24 variants, not a rule for later Galaxy phones.
For the Galaxy S26, SamMobile relayed an Android Addicts side-by-side drain test in which the Exynos phone lasted 6 hours 48 minutes and the Snapdragon phone 9 hours 26 minutes—a reported difference of 2 hours 38 minutes in that run. The test sequence included calls, video calls, streaming and social apps, 4K 30fps video recording, Maps navigation, and 3DMark gaming. This was a reported channel test, not a controlled laboratory measurement or a guarantee of ordinary-use battery life.

Samsung’s corporate report does not provide matched comparative battery-life figures for the chips. The S24 and S26 results point in different directions, so use evidence for the generation and regional variant you are considering rather than carrying one result forward.

Which Galaxy chip runs hotter?
The available S26 heat evidence is qualitative and workload-specific; it does not establish that Exynos or Snapdragon consistently runs hotter. Android Authority reported that its Exynos S26+ became “rather warm” after one Asphalt Legends race. That is a reviewer’s observation, not a standardized surface-temperature measurement.

In a separate stress-test comparison, Android Authority said Exynos appeared to warm more quickly during a Wild Life run. It also noted that the S26 Ultra has a better cooling setup, which complicates any comparison across those devices. Longer-run performance varied by graphics workload. No directly comparable official Samsung or Qualcomm exterior-temperature figure is provided in the cited material, so a precise chip-wide temperature ranking is not established.
How to compare two variants before buying
For a useful comparison, match the phones as closely as possible and keep the claim tied to the test that supports it. A review of a Snapdragon S26 Ultra cannot automatically answer how an Exynos S26+ will perform: model size and cooling, as well as the chip, can affect results.
Quick Recap
- Identify the exact device: record generation, model (such as S26 or S26+), sales region, and processor shown on the specific listing.
- Match the workload: compare the same game, app, or benchmark rather than treating a CPU score as a gaming or battery verdict.
- Separate short runs from sustained performance: note the benchmark and software version, how long the test ran, and whether it measures a peak score or performance over repeated runs.
- Read battery-test conditions: check the app sequence, screen and connectivity conditions, and whether the test is a controlled measurement or a reported real-world run.
- Account for the phone itself: compare model size and cooling design, and check the actual regional listing and price rather than assuming a chip configuration is universal.
