No: the Exynos 1610 is not established as simply an Exynos 1330 with its 5G modem removed. Reporting on the Galaxy A18 4G says the 1610 has a modified pipeline, a different GPU configuration and changes to imaging and media support. But Samsung has not published an official Exynos 1610 specification page, so those details should be treated as reported analysis—not manufacturer-confirmed specifications.
Is the Exynos 1610 just an Exynos 1330 without 5G?
The short answer is no, based on the available technical reporting. GSMArena says its examination of kernel source code found a “completely modified pipeline” in the Exynos 1610, rather than a simple modem swap. That is the reviewer’s interpretation of the source code, not a claim published by Samsung. GSMArena’s Galaxy A18 4G performance review is the main source for that analysis.

The shorthand comparison exists for a reason: the chips are reported to share a 2+6 CPU layout, with two Cortex-A78 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. The 1610 is reported to use a 4G modem, while Samsung specifies an integrated sub-6GHz 5G modem for the Exynos 1330. Those similarities and differences do not, by themselves, establish that one chip is a direct variant of the other.

Samsung’s Exynos 1330 product page is an official source for the 1330. The 1610 details below come from specialist coverage of the Galaxy A18 4G and should be read as reported specifications. Samsung cautions that 1330 specifications can change and that actual performance depends on configuration and environment.

For the 1330’s manufacturer-stated modem maxima and other listed specifications, see Samsung’s Exynos 1330 page. Reported 1610 details and the reviewer’s qualifications are in GSMArena’s review and SamMobile’s October 5, 2026 report.
What appears to distinguish the 1610?
More reported GPU cores, but not a proven gaming win
Specialist coverage identifies the 1610 GPU as a Mali-G68 MP4, compared with the reported Mali-G68 MP2 for the 1330. The 1610 is also reported to support LPDDR4X, while GSMArena says the 1330 can support LPDDR5. These are chip-level capabilities; the memory installed in a particular phone can differ from the maximum or supported options of its processor.

SamMobile reports 483,061 AnTuTu points and 1,434 3DMark Wild Life Extreme points for the Galaxy A18 4G. GSMArena describes the graphics result as unusually high and potentially a fluke. A single phone result—especially one the reviewer questions—does not establish that the 1610 will outperform the 1330 or deliver better gaming in every device or game.

The 1610’s ISP is reported to support 4K/60fps video and VP9 hardware decoding. That describes reported chip capability, not necessarily the recording modes a phone maker enables. Samsung’s 1330 page, by contrast, lists 4K video recording up to 30fps for that chip.

What does the Galaxy A18 4G actually show?
The Galaxy A18 4G is reported as the first phone to use the Exynos 1610. In GSMArena’s review, the phone records video at up to 1080p/30fps, despite the reported 1610 ISP capability of 4K/60fps. The difference is a device implementation limit in the reviewed A18, not evidence that the chip itself cannot support higher-resolution recording.
Benchmark results also belong to the tested phone, not to every possible 1610 device. SamMobile reports Geekbench 6 scores of 953 single-core and 2,144 multi-core for the Galaxy A18 4G, describing them as close to Exynos 1330 performance. GSMArena lists 975 Geekbench 6 single-core points for a Galaxy A16 5G with the Exynos 1330. These figures are useful context, not a controlled guarantee of how two chips will compare in other phones.

Is the Exynos 1280 a closer comparison?
GSMArena considers the Exynos 1280 a closer comparison to the 1610 in some respects than the Exynos 1330. That does not make the 1610 a confirmed 1280 variant either: Samsung has not published an official 1610 specification sheet in the sources available here, and the reported analysis does not establish a definitive product lineage. It is more accurate to compare the reported features individually than to label the 1610 a renamed version of either chip.
What is confirmed—and what remains reported?
- Confirmed by Samsung for the Exynos 1330: 5nm EUV process, its 2+6 CPU core arrangement, integrated sub-6GHz 5G modem, and listed 4K recording support up to 30fps. Samsung also lists modem maxima of 2.55Gbps download and 1.28Gbps upload.
- Reported for the Exynos 1610: a 5nm process, 2× Cortex-A78 at 2.4GHz plus 6× Cortex-A55 at 2.0GHz, Mali-G68 MP4 graphics, LPDDR4X support, 4G connectivity, and ISP support for 4K/60fps.
- Observed on the reported debut phone: the Galaxy A18 4G’s 1080p/30fps recording limit and its reported benchmark results.
For the 1610, the distinction matters: specialist analysis can indicate how the chip differs, but without a Samsung specification page its architecture and capabilities are not official manufacturer claims. Samsung’s 1330 specifications are available on its Exynos 1330 page.
