The Exynos 1330 is the stronger overall chipset on the specifications and benchmark figures available: it has newer CPU cores, supports 5G, and leads the Helio G85 in the cited aggregate benchmark results. The Helio G85 is a 4G chip. Benchmark scores come from phones with different hardware and test conditions, so use them as a guide—not a guarantee of how any two specific phones will perform.

The manufacturer specifications are the primary source for each chip’s own claims: MediaTek Helio G85 specifications and Samsung Exynos 1330 specifications. Some Exynos details in the table—such as memory and CPU clocks—come from NanoReview’s comparison table rather than Samsung’s product page. Actual phone implementations may expose different capabilities.

Which processor is better for performance?
The Exynos 1330 has two Cortex-A78 performance cores, while the Helio G85 uses two Cortex-A75 cores. Both have six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, but the Exynos cores have higher listed clock speeds. Those specification differences favor the Exynos for CPU-heavy work, though a chip’s performance in a particular phone also depends on cooling, power limits, software, and other hardware.

The following scores are the displayed aggregates on NanoReview’s live comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026. They are not results from a single controlled test of matched phones.
#1 Best Overall
| Benchmark | Exynos 1330 | Helio G85 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 11 | 607,137 | 346,495 |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 952 | 420 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 1,963 | 1,364 |
| 3DMark Steel Nomad Light | 139 | 80 |
| PCMark 3.0 | 11,711 | 8,539 |
In these displayed results, the Exynos 1330 leads in every listed test. The comparison page combines results from different phone models and reports unequal sample counts: 19 AnTuTu 11 samples for Exynos 1330 versus 55 for Helio G85; 8 Geekbench 6 CPU samples versus 33; and three phone models in its PCMark entry versus 20. Scores can vary with benchmark version, device software, temperature, and test conditions. See the NanoReview Exynos 1330 vs Helio G85 comparison for the displayed comparison.
What the graphics comparison does—and does not—show
The cited 3DMark aggregate favors the Exynos 1330, but GPU clock speed alone cannot establish which graphics chip is faster. The Helio G85’s listed Mali-G52 MC2 frequency is up to 1 GHz, while NanoReview lists the Exynos 1330’s Mali-G68 MP2 at 949 MHz. Architecture, graphics throughput, drivers, memory bandwidth, phone cooling, and power limits all affect real performance.

These figures do not establish sustained frame rates for a particular game or prove which phone will last longer on battery. Those outcomes depend on the specific handset, screen resolution, game version, software, and usage. A matched comparison using the same game, settings, and conditions would be needed to make a reliable direct claim.
Which chip should you choose in a phone?
If the choice is strictly between these two chipsets, the Exynos 1330 has the stronger specification and benchmark case, and its integrated sub-6 GHz modem adds 5G connectivity. The Helio G85 is a 4G option. But buying a phone based on its processor name alone can lead to a poor comparison: memory, storage, display, software support, battery, price, and carrier compatibility also matter.

- Verify the exact phone variant. Check the full model number and regional SKU, then confirm the listed processor. Samsung notes that Exynos-equipped device availability can vary by country and carrier; a phone’s name alone may not identify its chipset. See Samsung’s device showcase.
- Check the rest of the hardware. Compare the actual phone’s RAM, storage type and capacity, screen, battery, and cooling rather than assuming every handset built around the same chip behaves alike.
- Confirm network compatibility. The Exynos 1330 supports sub-6 GHz 5G, but service still depends on the phone’s regional bands, carrier support, and coverage. The Helio G85 is a 4G chipset.
- Use benchmarks as supporting evidence. Prefer comparisons between the exact phone models you are considering, particularly if gaming or sustained performance is important.
Verdict
For chipset capability, the Exynos 1330 is ahead of the Helio G85: it pairs newer CPU cores with 5G support and higher scores in the cited aggregate benchmarks. Treat that as a platform-level comparison, not a promise that every Exynos 1330 phone will outperform every Helio G85 phone in daily use.
