To use it, sign in to the account holding an available balance, choose eligible travel, and look for the OneKeyCash option at checkout. If Expedia offers redemption for that booking, choose the amount allowed and check the updated total before paying. Availability depends on the booking and its terms.
How to use OneKeyCash at checkout
- Sign in to the Expedia account that holds the balance.
- Choose eligible travel and proceed to checkout.
- Review the payment options. If the booking qualifies, Expedia will show whether OneKeyCash can be applied and how much is available to use.
- Check the revised total and remaining amount due, then complete the booking.
Only available OneKeyCash can be redeemed; pending rewards cannot be applied. Expedia says available OneKeyCash can go toward future eligible bookings on Expedia and other participating brands, subject to the applicable terms. See Expedia’s One Key discounts and OneKeyCash help page.

Which bookings can use OneKeyCash?
Eligibility depends on the travel type, payment timing, supplier, and sometimes individual components of a package. Expedia’s One Key Terms and Conditions, effective July 28, 2026, describe these general rules for the U.S.-facing program; terms can vary by market, participating brand, booking, and promotion.
| Booking type | What the terms allow |
|---|---|
| Hotels | Eligible “Pay Now” hotel bookings may qualify, subject to exclusions. |
| Short-term rentals | Certain participating rentals may qualify; not every rental is eligible. |
| Car rentals | Certain “Pay Now” rentals may qualify. Some supplier-direct charges are excluded. |
| Activities | Certain “Pay Now” activities may qualify. |
| Packages | A select package may allow redemption on eligible portions. Eligibility is assessed separately for each component. |
| Flights | Only eligible airlines qualify, and the available balance must cover the entire flight cost, including taxes and fees. OneKeyCash cannot cover seat selection, baggage, or flight changes. |
For the exact booking you are considering, use the payment options shown at checkout and check your balance and reward details in Rewards Activity.
#1 Best Overall
- Not redeemable at hotel locations or if you choose the Pay at Hotel option online
- Redemption: Online only
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
Why the OneKeyCash option may not appear
If checkout does not offer redemption, the booking may be ineligible or the balance may not meet its conditions. Expedia identifies insufficient balance, added extras, and an ineligible flight as possible reasons the option may be unavailable.
- The rewards are pending: wait until they become available after the qualifying booking is completed.
- The booking is Pay Later: OneKeyCash cannot be used on Pay Later bookings.
- The booking is a flight: the balance must cover the whole eligible fare, including taxes and fees; extras such as baggage are not covered.
- An extra or supplier charge is involved: some charges and booking components are excluded.
Payment rules and what OneKeyCash is not
OneKeyCash is promotional in nature: it has no cash value, cannot be transferred to another member, and cannot be redeemed for cash. A partial redemption generally requires the rest of the payment to be made by credit or debit card. OneKeyCash also cannot be used with buy-now-pay-later payment methods and generally cannot be combined with gift cards, coupons, upgrades, awards, or promotions unless the applicable terms allow it.

- Give the gift of travel.
- A perfect gift for any occasion.
- Amazon.com Gift Cards cannot be used as a method of payment for this item.
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
Expiration and earning are separate questions
Expedia’s general terms say base and preferred-inventory OneKeyCash do not expire if the account makes an eligible booking or redemption at least once every 18 months. Promotional OneKeyCash can have different expiration rules set by its offer. Check Rewards Activity and the specific offer terms for your balance.
Do not treat earning rates as a conversion rate for redeeming a balance. Under Expedia’s One Key Terms effective July 28, 2026, the stated base earning rates on specified eligible bookings are 1% for Blue, 2% for Silver and Gold, and 3% for Platinum per eligible dollar, excluding taxes and fees. These are earning rates, and not every product is guaranteed to earn at those rates.
Rank #3
- Give Airbnb—amazing places to stay and things to do, all around the world.
- Redemption: Online
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
Member Prices are discounts on the current booking, while OneKeyCash is a reward for future eligible travel. Expedia says a booking may receive a Member Price and earn OneKeyCash for later, but each benefit has its own eligibility rules. See Expedia’s explanation of how One Key discounts and OneKeyCash work together.
