Shacknews’ October 5, 2026, Evening Reading is a daily digest by Sam Chandler, collecting that day’s Shacknews coverage alongside a separate set of videos and links from around the internet. It closes with a prompt for readers: “What are you up to tonight?” Read the edition on Shacknews.
What Shacknews covered that day
The “In case you missed it at Shacknews” section recaps nine stories spanning games, entertainment, technology and legal news. Its linked headlines cover:
- Total War: Warhammer III’s Lords of End Times DLC and Deadlock’s Rat King.
- A review of Star Wars: Galactic Racer and a reader question about whether past Grand Theft Auto characters will appear in GTA 6.
- A Make-a-Wish quest in World of Warcraft: Forever, adaptations of ARC Raiders and The Finals, and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria in Fortnite.
- Capcom’s REX engine and AI, a Tesla workplace-discrimination case, and Team Fortress 2’s Scream Fortress 18.
The page also points to a video roundup about Switch 2. These are topics and labels presented by the roundup; the Evening Reading page itself does not independently establish the underlying details of those linked stories.
Videos and links from around the internet
A second section, “Other Stuff From The Internet,” gathers assorted links, with Chandler adding brief reactions between them. The selection includes videos about Order of the Sinking Star with Jonathan Blow, a BitLife challenge, alleged PlayStation 5 hacking, differential gears, a space expert Q&A, countries’ unhealthy foods, building an outdoor table, comedy shows, and an online personality facing prison. The roundup shares these links rather than reporting them as independently verified news.

How the edition closes
Chandler presents the post as the close of Shacknews’ day of coverage, writing: “Let’s officially close out our day of posting. Please take a look.” The page then points readers to Shackmaps, Shackpass, Shackfile and Shackshop; the latter is described as offering “awesome t-shirts, hoodies, and other gear.”
This is a roundup and community post, not a product comparison or buying guide. Its central value is the quick index of the day’s coverage and a varied set of outside links, with the closing question inviting readers to join the conversation.
