What makes Etihad’s Apartment distinctive?
The defining idea is separation: the Apartment has a leather lounge chair for sitting and an ottoman that converts into a fully flat bed. Etihad also describes privacy doors, a personal vanity and turn-down service. Its 2025 Toronto release gives the bed length as 80 inches; that is a cabin specification, not evidence of comparative comfort.

The A380 also has a First-class shower room and The Lobby, a serviced lounge and bar shared by First and Business guests. Those are aircraft-specific amenities, not features to assume on Etihad flights operated by other aircraft. Etihad’s A380 fleet page lists service from Abu Dhabi to London, Tokyo, Toronto, Paris and Singapore on selected flights.

What makes Emirates First Class distinctive?
On the A380, Emirates offers private suites alongside a Shower Spa and an Onboard Lounge. The suite-centered layout differs from Etihad’s separate lounge chair and bed, while the shared lounge gives passengers another place to spend time outside their suite.
“Emirates First Class” can also mean a different cabin. Emirates’ 14 May 2025 announcement describes its 777 Game Changer: six suites in a 1-1-1 layout with floor-to-ceiling doors and lie-flat beds. Do not transfer A380 amenities such as the Shower Spa or Onboard Lounge to a 777 flight.

Which should you choose?
Choose Etihad’s A380 Apartment if…
- You value having a distinct lounge chair and a separate bed rather than using one suite seat for both activities.
- You want the A380’s described First-class shower room, personal vanity or access to The Lobby.
- Your itinerary operates the Apartment-equipped A380 and its route and schedule suit you.
Choose Emirates A380 First if…
- You prefer a private-suite layout.
- You value the A380’s Shower Spa and Onboard Lounge as part of the experience.
- The specific A380 aircraft and itinerary meet your needs.
Compare the 777 separately
If the Emirates option is a 777 Game Changer, compare its suite directly with the Etihad Apartment, but do not treat it as Emirates A380 First: the announced 777 product has six suites and does not carry the A380 amenity assumptions. The cabin announcement alone does not establish which itinerary offers better value or service.

- Identify the operating aircraft and cabin for your exact date and flight number in the airline’s booking details.
- Confirm that the cabin is the Etihad A380 First Apartment, Emirates A380 First, or Emirates 777 Game Changer—not simply “First Class.”
- Recheck close to departure: aircraft assignments and schedules can change, and an airline’s route list does not guarantee an A380 on every date.
- Compare the full itinerary, including schedule and fare or award cost, alongside the cabin features. The product descriptions do not establish current prices, inventory or a universal service-quality ranking.
Etihad’s current A380 fleet page lists London, Tokyo, Toronto, Paris and Singapore among selected routes from Abu Dhabi. Its June 2026 Tokyo announcement says A380 service to Narita began that month. These are route and deployment details, not a guarantee for an individual flight. Emirates likewise says its A380 fleet includes earlier and later models, so check the cabin shown for your own itinerary.
