Escape From Playtime is a cooperative survival-horror game set in the Poppy Playtime universe. As of October 3, 2026, PC Gamer reports that its temporary Steam open beta is live and scheduled to end at 6 p.m. Pacific on Sunday, October 4. Steam lists October 21, 2026, as the planned Early Access release date.
Is Escape From Playtime out yet?
It is available in a limited-time open beta, according to PC Gamer’s October 1, 2026 report. That report says the beta runs through 6 p.m. Pacific on October 4 and is playable on Steam. This is a temporary test, not the full Early Access launch; Steam lists the game as coming soon and in development.

The Steam listing gives October 21, 2026, as the planned Early Access date. Because the listing describes the date as planned and the game as a work in progress, check Steam for any schedule or availability changes.
What is the beta’s player limit?
PC Gamer reports that the beta supports up to eight players, while recommending groups of four. That beta figure differs from the planned game format: MOB Entertainment describes Escape From Playtime as playable solo or in online co-op with up to four players—one player and as many as three friends.

What kind of game is Escape From Playtime?
MOB Entertainment describes it as a 1–4-player online co-op survival-horror game. Players take the roles of Smiling Critters exploring the abandoned Playtime Co. toy factory. They search for supplies and tools, gather materials, and try to bring them back safely while hostile creations threaten them.

The factory’s areas may change between runs, with locations such as classrooms, warehouses, testing labs and connecting corridors. Players can look for clues, solve puzzles, hide, create distractions or take alternate routes. A mysterious Voice promises a home or sanctuary in return for gathered materials, but its motives are left unclear. These details are part of MOB’s description of the game, not a guarantee that every planned feature will be in the beta.
MOB also says the game includes proximity voice chat. That makes communication part of the intended co-op experience, although its FAQ says a microphone is not required.

What is planned for Early Access?
MOB says the initial Early Access release is planned to include all eight Smiling Critters, one starter zone and a core lineup of enemies. The developer expects additional zones, characters, features and refinements to be shaped by player feedback. These are development plans, not a promise that every item will arrive on a particular date.
Steam’s Early Access disclosure says the developer is targeting roughly one year in Early Access, with the timing dependent on when the game’s core is established with the community. That makes the one-year period an estimate rather than a fixed end date.
